The first thing Ranma saotome felt when he woke up was a splitting headache. He groaned once before lying back on the bed and closed his eyes to shut out the light. Anytime now, one of his rivals or his fiancees would bust in, create a mess and send him off flying courtesy of Air Mallet...
'Dammit...I just wanted to fix everything in my life by going back in time with the Nanban Mirror. Is that so much to ask?!?' He chuckled silently to himself. 'Probably too much for the Kami to grant.' He then paused for a moment as his vision and headache cleared up. 'Wait a second here...where am I?'
The surrounding area seemed to be something out of a Federation Starship sickbay without the 24th Century Medical Equipment. There were a few beds, a small office and cabinets with medical supplies. He felt a small machine attached to his left arm and it was unlike anything he had seen before. 'Did Dr. Tofu come up with this?'
"Ah, you're awake." He turned towards the direction of the voice and found a small girl with green hair, red eyes and two white patches on her cheeks. She wore a military uniform and a cap. In her arms was a strange looking pink penguin-like creature with a red 'Z' on its chest.
"Uh...hi?" Ranma waved weakly.
The penguin-like creature spoke. "His injuries seemed to have recovered, Vanilla."
"Thank you, Normad." She approached Ranma and removed the machine from Ranma's arm.
The martial artist felt surprised at how refreshed he felt. As he flexed his arm, the medical bay doors opened to reveal another girl with pink hair, blue eyes and flowers in her hair. She too had a military uniform and carried a tray full of vegetarian snacks. "I thought you might like a snack, Vanilla..." She noticed the fully awake boy. "...and I see that you're quite healthy! It was very lucky that I found you quickly and got you in the ship's medical bay to treat those nasty injuries."
"Can someone explain what's going on here?" asked Ranma in a weary tone.
"You do it, Milfeulle. I'm not good at these type of things," stated Vanilla.
