[Episode 13051] [Episode 13051]Akane giggled as she started brushing her hair, then got the uniform on. It was so tricky working the buttons though!
Finally though she was ready. She piroutted before the mirror and giggled again as she fell over.
She pranced downstairs past her two sisters, who were apparently only a little behind her in the flu. Now they would know it was temporary and they'd get over it soon too!
Akane didn't have a care in the world after all. She couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time with her intelligence now down around the low eighties. Much of her knowledge was still there, but it was like trying to run a modern program on a thirty year old computer. She just had no way of accessing any of that.
Some of her knowledge could be accessed, but it was slow. Finally was the stuff she knew but didn't have to think about, and that was still there.
So while she might be functionally illiterate and innumerate, she wasn't reduced to completely not being able to function. She still knew everyone's name, how to do many of the things she did everyday, and could fend for herself in a number of situations. Her memories were unaffected so she lacked the problems that occurred to Alzheimer's patients for example.
Eventually she'd likely overcome this and return to something approaching normal intelligence. Perhaps she'd even make it up past 100 on the IQ scale, where now she'd register somewhere between 82 and 85.
This had several effects, one of which was notable by her chipper mood. She couldn't spare the effort required to think about hard things with her mind off line. She was happy and cheerful because that was the easiest thing to be. She hadn't even noticed that the world had become such a complicated place!
Akane went through the paces, ignoring the way Kasumi sniffled and coughed - and how Ranma had a surgical mask over his mouth and nose as he tried to keep from catching it.
