This did not go unnoticed by the space pirate as she floated past a fountain that was still crookedly standing, even if the water longer flowed. Gloved hands went to smudged cheeks as she studied her reflection in the light of a recently risen moon. Having worked out some of her aggressions, Ryoko’s more playful nature was again coming to the fore. Tenchi could be left to run a bit while she made herself pretty again for their next meeting.
Inside Natsume Manor, Tenchi’s first serious attempt at rescuing a damsel in distress was not quite working out as it did in his father’s manga collection. When he saw Nuku Nuku’s injuries, Tenchi had expected that he might have to carry the bakeneko to safety. Instead, she dragged him through the doorway into the receiving room. For a moment, Tenchi feared that she would continue to drag him across the polished wood floors (now with the occasional patch of rubble) as she made her way towards her master. Instead, she snapped her arm up, flinging him into a recliner before she set off down the halls, shouting for “Papa-san.”
Tenchi could have told her that Natsume-sensei was in the library, but the chair he had landed in did more than recline, having the ability to assume a number of positions to accommodate one or two people in various positions of their own. It was not intended to land in after flying across half the room, but it did a good job of breaking his fall as it folded around him. Tenchi had, on occasion, gone digging for change in the living room couch at his house. He now learned what it might be like to be one of those coins, lost in a dark press of cushions. Faintly, he heard Nuku Nuku calling out, “Papa-san! Make the mean lady play nice!”
Outside, Ryoko washed the last of the grime from her spiky cyan locks in the fountain pool. Satisfied with her own appearance, she took in the design of the fountain itself. Two half-scale statues of nubile women clasped each other tightly in a passionate kiss. They were supported above the water by stone tentacles rising from the pool, twisting about their legs before plunging into the obvious access points. More phallic tendrils split off from the original mass and surrounded the pair, with bulbous ends facing inwards, apparently to spray the entangled nymphs with water when the fountain was functioning properly.
Ryoko evaluated the monument to interspecies bukakke with a raised eyebrow, and considered blowing it up to match its surroundings. In the end, she merely giggled and turned away. This planet’s fixations were SO weird, but they also held some promise for Tenchi’s ability to perform.
