Most club managers had an office for day-to-day (or night-to-night) work, where they could meet important people and do critical work away from the sound and fury of their business operations. Venus was many things - being like "most club managers" was definitely not on the list.
She stood just above one of the dance pits, blue eyes focussed on the raving tide of humanity below, fire-golden hair pulled away from her face by a blood red bow...to match the shade of her drink. In truth, she fed less often than her sisters might suspect - her natural gifts of empathy allowed her to manipulate human emotions, and feed psychically. Less messy, even if it was less fun. But with crowds like this, she could sustain herself almost indefinitely without having to tap a single vein.
The downside (because there always was one) was that immersing herself in the ocean of human feelings left her...distracted (she refused to use the word "ditzy"). Like now. Lust and wildness permeated her being, and it took a great deal of her formidable vampiric will to resist the urge to cut loose along with them. Enough of her concentration, in fact, that she missed the scent of magic passing not too far away. In addition, she felt a familiar presence, teasing at the edges of her consciousness - which Venus felt was unfair. Teasing was her province, after all.
The mortal's footstep was soft enough to pass unnoticed in the din, and perhaps even in total silence, but her hearing was better than most people could imagine. Venus turned to behold a mortal youth - handsome of face, with well-defined muscles, hair as dark as her own heart, and eyes of such a pure blue. He could have stepped off the cover of a romance novel, and the vampire grinned. Just her type.
She put on a well-practised expression of flirtatious innocence and positioned her body to its best advantage, setting aside her drink. She focussed all of her considerable natural, and supernatural charisma, then asked, "Is there something you'd like me to do for you, handsome?"

Ranma felt the amulet burn against his chest - vampire, and trying very hard to manipulate him. That meant she wasn't combat-ready - he could end this quickly. The pigtailed youth let heat flow from his gaze (not for the reasons the bloodsucker thought), stepped close enough to press her body against his, and bent his head to whisper intimately in her ear.
"You can die."
Using all of his considerable speed, he plunged his hand toward her chest, summoning the claws in mid-move. The fiery blades emerged from her back, pinning her in shock long enough for his other hand to swipe through her neck.
She hadn't had time to scream, and the lights distorted vision, but Ranma decided to get out as fast as possible, reminding himself that one of these days, not planning an exit strategy was going to get him killed.
------------------------------
Concentrating hard to shield herself and her quarry from view, Mars stood over the body of her "sister." Had Ranma been that good, or Venus just that off-guard? It didn't matter, much. What mattered was that Ranma had damaged her heart and removed her head, but hadn't burned the body - not that such an act would have gone unnoticed, even in this chaos.
Carefully, and with practised ease, the vampire went under Venus' ribs and removed the heart. Extending her fangs, she held it like an apple, and . . .
When she was finished, she tossed aside the dried husk, which the rest of the body was coming to resemble. "One down . . . four to go."
