[Episode 131803] [Episode 131803]"Why did we go back to the locker room?" Asuka asked.
"The Evangelion units themselves are next on our itinerary and it would be best to dress as pilots when inspecting them," Rei explained.
"What dress?" Asuka demanded caught between confusion and suspicion, "They made me pilot that robot in the nude. I am not going out of here naked!"
Rei was already half naked. She paused in stripping of her panties to hand Asuka the package.
While Asuka inspected the package Rei continued to undress and explained things to Asuka.
"The package contains your personal plugsuit," Rei said, "Normal clothing would impede with the synchronization process, but the plugsuits are specially designed not to interfere."
Asuka did her best not to pay any attention to Rei's state of undress and instead concentrate on unwrapping the package in her hands.
'Interfere with the synch-process' Rei had said, but what it came down to was that clothing would simply get in the way of the tentacles. How did they handle this with those plugsuits? Little zippers all over the suit to allow easy access?
What was revealed when she finally unwrapped the package turned out to have no zippers. In fact it did not look like clothing at all. It was a red lump of a rubbery substance with a surprisingly Jello-like quality to it.
Asuka poked it and it wobbled.
Picking it up with the tips of her fingers Asuka let it unfold. When she held it up in the air she could see that it was indeed a red sack of this strange stuff in a roughly human shape. So it actually was supposed to be clothing. The facts that it stretched to an alarming degree under its own weight and that you could almost see through it if you held it up against the light just meant that it was made of one of the worst possible materials to make clothes out of.
Asuka was startled out of her musings by a strange noise behind her. It sounded like something halfway between a slurp and a fart.
When she turned to Rei to look for the source of the sound she found to her surprise that Rei was already dressed — sort of dressed at least.
What Rei wore had absolutely no resemblance to the jelly-sack that she had given Asuka. For one thing it was white and not red.
Rei's plugsuit consisted out of very thin but solid white material that covered her entire body from the neck down. It looked like Rei had been coated in a very thin layer of latex in the few moments that Asuka had not been looking. Saying that the outfit was skintight would not have done it justice. Judging from the way it moulded itself to every curve and outlined every nook and cranny of her body it must have been painted on.
"The plugsuits automatically adjust to their wearer's body," Rei said by way of explanation, "I will demonstrate how it is activated once you get dressed."
Confused and curious Asuka stripped of her clothing while Rei watched her impassively. With her friend's help she then managed to put on the malleable rubber suit.
With the plugsuit hanging loosely around her she watched as Rei pointed out a control element on her wrist.
Slightly apprehensive but determined to see things through Asuka pressed the button.
She gave a startled yelp as the plugsuit suddenly contracted around her with the slurping/farting sound that she had heard earlier.
"Are you all right," Rei inquired.
It was a valid question. Asuka must have looked at least slightly not all right having risen to her tiptoes with wide opened eyes.
"I am fine," She answered slowly recovering, "I just hadn't expect the super-wedgie that this thing gave me."
Asuka looked down at herself. The Jello-suit had transformed into a red version of the outfit Rei wore. It felt strange as it touched her skin everywhere below the neck: under her armpits, below and between her breasts and between her butt cheeks. Her nipples and her sex were clearly outline by the material. Overall she must look like she had just been given a coating of shiny blood-red bodypaint.
She tried to adjust the fit into something more modestly but only managed to pinch herself. The material had practically bounded to her skin.
"What is this stuff?" she wondered.
"The material for the plugsuits is a byproduct of Dr. Akagi's LCL research it consists of a matrix of unstable molecules of LCL-Serum."
"LCL?!" Asuka screamed.
She should have known that this stuff was dangerous. Frantically she tried to get the plugsuit off. Any minute now it would take effect and she would be forced to have a lesbian orgy with Rei. She could already feel herself reacting...
"LCL-Serum," Rei calmly restate, "which is the absolutely harmless part of LCL with all the special and biochemically active elements filtered out."
"Oh!" Asuka relaxed embarrassed and not one bit disappointed.
"It has amazing properties insulating and protecting the wearer against electricity, radiation, cold, heat and many types of dangerous chemicals. When it also covers the head in full-body configuration the plugsuit could theoretically be used as a short duration spacesuit," Rei praised the suit like a salesman.
"If it is such a good thing than why is nobody else at NERV wearing it?" Asuka asked sceptically.
"The plugsuits are very expensive pieces of technology and as such not suited for everyday use," Rei explained than after hesitating for a moment she added, "Many members of the NERV staff have also expressed a reluctance to use it even if it were more affordable based on some distorted rumors about the prototype testing. I can assure you that while the rubberization-incident did indeed occur in early testing phases, all participants were eventually recovered and turned back to normal and there is absolutely no truth to the allegation that any of the volunteers were accidentally inventoried as sex-toys."
Seeing that Asuka was less then totally convinced Rei hurried to add, " All bugs and flaws in the process have long since been eliminated. The suits are perfectly safe. The main advantage of the Plugsuits is that they dissolve completely and tracelessly in LCL. They offer no resistance to the physical aspects of the synchronization process while submerged in the entryplug. And when emerging from an LCL-bath the suit will automatically reform out of the LCL itself."
"You get naked when you jump into that LCL stuff but are dressed again when you get out?" Asuka asked disbelievingly.
"Yes, I can demonstrate this effect for you when we get to an LCL-tank," Rei offered.
Asuka realized that Rei intended them to walk out of the locker room 'dressed' in nothing but their plugsuits.
"We can't go out like this. People might see us and the plugsuits hide absolutely nothing. I would just die if some perverted boy saw me like this," she protested.
"There is nothing to fear," Rei assured her, "The NERV staff working in close contact with LCL or the Evangelion Units is due to attrition by now almost entirely female. The women still working here are hardened professionals who have grown accustomed to such sights as pilots dressed in plugsuits."
This did not reassure Asuka in the least, but she still followed Rei out of the locker-room her face almost the same color as her suit.
