He was great. He was powerful. He was EVIL. He would be the greatest keeper to ever live!
He was all but drowning in his own ego.
A Goblin approached him. "Lord Mexnor! A n-" He also had a very stupid name. Mexnor frowned. "WHAT have I told you about using my NAME, peon?! You will call me DREAD LORD KEEPER, or I shall DESTROY you!"
The Goblin paled. Ugly and stupid he may be, but Lord Mexnor was still the Keeper, and that meant HE had all the magic, so you had to respect him, or else he'd kill you. "M-my apologies," he stuttered, "b-but we have news of a new keeper arising, Lord m... I mean, Dread Lord Keeper... and the Warlocks think they would make a perfect target for you to conquer!"
Mexnor pulled his face into an evil grin... or tried to, at least. All he REALLY managed to do was look constipated... but let's keep that a secret from him, shall we? "Excellent. Prepare my travelling throne! We go... TO VICTORY!"
The goblin sighed. His master was SUCH an idiot.

Elsewhere, a truly competent keeper was hearing the same news. Considering he WAS hearing the same news, and he WAS competent in his evil, said news angered him. Condescending little Warlocks, he would have to punish them later.
"It is of no concern to ME what a new keeper is doing. I know that it is inevitable that they will come to challenge me for my vast realm, and I shall crush them easily, like the worthless worm they are. Now leave me."
The messenger left, leaving the evil keeper to his plotting.

"Schneapple WILL eat that tasty food. Mark Schneapples words. Mark his words..."
The irritable Imp grumbled to himself bitterly, as he continued digging a tunnel towards the surface.
Poor thing doesn't know how far he has to dig, does he?
