He sighed deeply, and then smiled widely as entered the gates. To the town. All of a sudden Vash was blown over by a feeling in his gun. There was something important missing in this town. He could not put his finger on what it was, but there was a hole in the psyche of this town.
"Hello there!" he asked someone on the street with a laugh, "I'm just passing through and I'd like to know if there was somewhere that I could pick up supplies!"
The person to whom he spoke backed up. He seems dower and nervous. "Ah… there's a shop just to your left."
The Humanoid typhoon looked over, and indeed there was. He really could be inobservant at times!
"Thanks!" Vash exclaimed in an overly cheery voice, "Chao!"
Vash shook his head as he walked. What could make someone so glum?
Shaking it off, he walked through the door of the shop and smiled.
"Hello!," he exclaimed.
"Welcome, how may I help you?" the owner asked with a total lack of enthusiasm.
Vash's eyes narrowed slightly. This man was just as dower as the other. There was something strange here.
"I here this is the place to buy supplies," Vash stated.
The man nodded, "We have all kinds of supplies. What would you like?"
Vash paused. "Well, I need travel rations and any .45 Long Colt ammunition if you have it…"
He shook his head. "We don't have bullets."
Vash nodded, "Is there anyone in town who does?"
"No."
Vash bit his lip. Now this was very curious. A town this far out without an ammunition supply…
"Well, how much for two weeks travel rations?"
"40 Bottlecaps."
From the corner of his eye he saw a cute little girl peering out from behind a curtain. Smiling at the inquisitive child, Vash made a big silly face. The little girl smiled and laughed, but was almost instantaneously pulled in from behind.
Vash blinked, and mentally decided to figure out what was going on later. It was beginning to get dark.
Vash reached into his pouch and withdrew the requested amount in 10 cap strings.
"That you sir," the owner replied as he packaged the parcel of rations.
Vash nodded as he took the package and looked back as he left. He would have to look into this… after he got a nights sleep
