Gendo was his normal unperturbed self. "We will contain the affected parties and place them where they will be isolated from outside influences."
"Is that wise? The contamination is growing, and if we don't stop it now, we can't know how it will affect them."
"The only way to stop it would be to consult with our expert and hope that Doctor Akagi could solve this issue. Do you think that you could get her to stop changing long enough to create a cure?"
The older man winced slightly. "No, I don't."
"Well then, let us keep them in a place where we can observe their shift safely."
"We won't..."
"That will be a last resort. As it stands now, we will have some very interesting test subjects," commented the Commander.
"Understood. What about the concerns of... others?"
"We will act before any old men stick their noses into our business."
Through the lens of the security cameras, the security watching the group laying in the hospital beds change. Their bodies shifted so quickly that had one not known about the Angel, it would be obvious that things were not going naturally. Any shift was being done with unnatural swiftness, almost as if they were being accelerated. However, there was no indication that anything other than the change was going on.
Not even a single signal indicating that they were shifting into anything remotely Angelic was found, and only a slight shift in the brainwave activity was found. With no obvious indicators, the only way to find out what the Angel had changed them into was to wait for the change to finish, which only took a few hours.
However, it became quickly obvious that the girls were being given animal characteristic long before that. Anyone watching could easily see that, what with the tails and other odd growths coming from them. None of them was grotesque by any means, as each girl was proving to be rather attractive as they became mixes of animal and woman.
But once the changes finished, and the feminine forms were quietly relaxing in their slumber, it took a moment to realise that they were not going to continue to change. When no further alterations were registered, the work of identifying the exact changes started. Observations were taken as the women and what sort of animal they were was marked down, and remote sensors detected their health as best they could. Nothing more direct could be done until they were directly checked, and that could not be done until they were determined not to be contagious.
Those who had already come into contact with them had been isolated for just that reason, but before any real determination of how easily this could be passed along could be made,:
