"You have been warned…"
"You should have left the master to his solitude…"
"You will pay for this intrusion with you lives…"
Kain sneered and threw the Flay at the first of them. His tissue was torn away in an explosion of gore, and his decicated skeleton fell to the ground in a unceremonious heap.
In response the remaining two chanted spells and for a moment both Kain and Seras were baited in fire.
Unsettled by the attack but more angered and less hampered by the magic, they set upon their enemies.
Seras smacked her enemy across the back of the head with the haft of her pike rendering him unconscious, while Kain stabbed his target in the chest with his sword.
Seras gagged in disgust as Kain let the mortally wounded man stumble back, and opened his mouth. The mages blood was telekinetically ran from his wounds and into Kain's mouth. Once Kain was finished feeding, the dried corpse unceremoniously fell to the Earth Wiping his mouth, Kain turned to Seras. "Yours is still breathing…"
"He's not dead," she replied, "I didn't have to kill him…"
"He is your enemy," Kain replied, "And you must feed."
"I am not going to kill someone just so I can drink their blood!" Seras replied, "Its not human!"
Kain sneered and walked over to the unconscious Mage. He unceremoniously lifted the man from the ground and snapped his neck.
"Vae Victus - suffering to the conquered."
Kain turned to Seras and threw the body. It landed at her feet.
Seras stood in place, looking at Kain in shere horror. "That was… inhuman!"
"I do not know why I have to tell you this, Seras, but I am not human, and nether are you. We are a vampires."
She deflated, "But…"
"We must feed if we are to defeat our enemies, purify the circle, save Nosgoth, and receive our cure. Now eat, for your meal grows cold."
Seras looked down upon the corpse and fought her own instincts.
She didn't want to do this, but she knew it was her only option. They didn't have medical blood. She had to feed some how or she'd loose control.
She took a deep breath and acquiesced. Kain was right. She had to feed, but she would never feed on the innocent. Her enemies where one thing. If they attacked her and she killed them in self-defense, then she'd consume their blood, but she'd never kill someone just to feed. She might be a vampire, but that did not mean she had to loose her humanity.
Slowly, Seras lifted the man from the ground. He still had a pulse but with a broken neck he'd soon be dead. Almost gingerly she pushed his head to the side, and bit down.
Immediately the tangy taste of blood touched her tongue and she began to drink deeply. She was disgusted by what she was doing yet at the same time it felt like the most natural thing in the world, far more so than bagged blood.
She continued to drink until the man's body yealded no more, and then she cast him away.
She cast him away as if her was nothing more than a soda can. The very idea made her sick, and she looked at the corpse. She felt guilt well up inside her. She rationalized it to herself that she needed to feed and he was going to die anyways but still, it was wrong.
Oh she could not wait to find her cure, or at least go home where blood came in a refrigerator bag…
