"YEEEEHAAAAAW ! That's good stuff allright !" Ranma had a huge sweatdrop behind his head as he watched his genie swallow beer after beer. He had never seen anyone drink so much and having Genma Saotome as a father, that was saying something... "Tavern-keeper ! Bring me more !"
She had brought him in that bar, supposedly to explain more about her, the genies of Eva and the coming conflict. It had quickly degenerated in a drinking fest Ranma prudently stayed out of, his experiences with alcohol had been few and always disastrous.
"Aaaawww... Ranma *hic* it's no fun drinking alone..." Misato shoved a huge glass of beer in his face "You're still young ! You should have *hic* fun while you can ! *belch* Sorry..." She pouted cutely "Please ?"
"All right, all right..." Ranma relented under the genie's persistence and took the glass in his hands "Now, tell me more about you and the others..."
Misato crossed her arms and sniffed defiantly "Not until you drink this ! All of it !" she waited then burst into tears as Ranma failed to comply "Oh, woe is me ! My master don't wanna drink with me ! He thinks I'm ugly and no fun, WAAAAAAAAAAAH !"
Ranma panicked at Misato's outburst and the dark looks of the bar's patrons. That boy hangs out with a top babe and he's a heartless bastard too ! Left with no other option, he drank his beer in one fell swoop. She was right, it is pretty strong stuff !
Misato's tears dried up instantly and she glomped him "You like me ! You really like me ! *hic* Girls just wanna have fun, you know..." Ranma was busy trying to extract himself from her cleavage before his brain short-circuited. His efforts ended up doing something else "Oooh... Aaaah... Ranma... Master... Not in public ! So bold..."
THAT and all the 'lucky bastard' mutters he heard made Ranma's entire skin to turn a lovely shade of red. Smoke poured from his ears and blood rushed to his nose. He fainted. His last thought was that he swore to never make fun of P-Chan's reactions when Akane snuggled him in her bosom ever again.
"Ranma ? Ranma ! Oh, dear... He appears to be broken... *hic* what to do ?" Misato thought about it then struck her right fist in her left palm "I know ! *hic* Mouth-to-Mouth !"
Ranma unexpectedly regained consciousness when he heard her idea, to her disappointment "I'm fine ! I'm fine, really ! There's no need for that !" Misato sulked "Spoilsport... *hic*"
Ranma felt a headache coming "Ummm... Can't we get back to the subject at hand, please ?"
Misato sighed in disappointment. Her master was no fun. He should enjoy life a little more ! "Okay..." She swore to herself to get him out of his shell soon or her name wouldn't be Misato !

"We genies are the only beings on Earth capable of fighting the Fallen. However, we need a Sha'ir, a Master, to lead us into battle. When he manages to synchronize his soul with us, he can call on our powers" Misato had sobered up somewhat, this was a serious topic after all. They had retreated to a public park and sat on a bench. *Like a couple on a date, teehee !* she thought.
"Excuse me ? Synchronize ?" Ranma scratched his head, wondering what it could mean.
She smiled cattily, while she was snuggling up to him "It means you have to clear your mind, be pure in your purpose and... be nice to us girls !"
"Oh... " Ranma thought it shouldn't be too difficult. Somewhere, a ring containing a certain fiery german sneezed "What can you tell me of your fellow genies and what they can do ?"
"Well, It's like this... Rei, Asuka, Mana and Hikari are the elemental genies, our artillery so to speak. I'm the raw offense, give the order and I'll kick ass and take names ! Maya is defense and protection for our master and others. Ritsuko's role is to heal us after battle. Yui and Naoko are the light and the darkness, mental stuff and all that. Lillith is... the last resort. When something has to be absolutely erased from existence..." She shuddered a little, the Eva kingdom had been destroyed when her last master had to call Lilith's power to stop the Fallen last time.
"And those Fallen guys ? Are they that powerful ? I'm a martial artist, I don't like leaving my battles to others..." Understatement of the year. Ranma Saotome didn't like to ask for help, period.
"It's not that they're so powerful in themselves... All the Fallen are protected by an Aura of Terror Field, no mundane weapons and low magics can penetrate it. Only a Sha'ir wielding the power of the Eva genies can !" Ranma had to understand the gravity of the situation. If her and the others had to become what they are now, it wasn't for pleasure.
Ranma outwardly accepted Misato's argument but he would find a way like he had always done in the past. Saffron was a god but he was defeated in the end. Those Fallen bozos couldn't be worse than the phoenix king in his opinion.
A sudden snapping sound alerted them to the presence of someone sneaking on them. They jumped and turned, taking battle stances, to face...
