Everyone in the room felt the temperature drop slightly as Ranma spoke. “I’m apologize Mistress, could you repeat that?”
Too inwardly wrapped up with receiving her first yoojimbou, Marie missed the subtle flash of…something that flashed across Ranma’s face. “The contract states that in addition to the normal responsibilities that you will each be assigned, all of you additionally carry full-use status.”
Ranma’s hand clenched tightly and Kasumi jerked when the knuckles popped loudly under the strain. “Yumiko, Akane and I are yoojimbou Mistress, as such, full-use status is…a possible complication to our duties.” Ranma’s face remained calm, but his eyes had an unreadable glimmer to them.
Marie smiled pleasantly. “I have participated in the debates in the Peers, it was determined that the status of full-use in no way depreciated a yoojimbou’s ability. While still relatively uncommon, it is done.” Marie cocked her head to the side in thought. “Although, it was strange that your particular contract had the full-use clause included from the beginning.”
Yumi shot a glance towards her brother, her eyes flashing confusion for a moment before narrowing. Before she could open her mouth to speak, Ranma cut her off. “If I may, can I see the contract Mistress?”
Marie blinked. “I don’t see how…”
Ranma’s voice cut her off like a knife. “In accordance with my rights as stated in the Mamluk Services and Rights Law, I hereby respectfully require you to surrender the contract in question for my inspection.”
Marie was silent for a moment before speaking. “Alright, here.” She rolled the scroll back into it’s protective metal casing and casually held it out.
Ranma rose and took the metal scroll with a bow before sitting back down and intently reading the document in the now silent room. Only the years of intense training he had gone through prevented him from growling as he read the handwritten addition just above the hanko mark.
Saotome Ranma will also carry the status of "Full-Use" for the full five year period stated above. During this period, at least one(1) child will be produced by the aforementioned by a person designated by Owner at the earliest possible time. Upon completion, the designation of "Full-Use" may or may not be expanded to other individuals at the Owner’s discretion.”
Rigidly standing and giving a bow that could be used to train the Emperor’s servants, Ranma took a precise nine inch step forward and held the scroll out to Marie. “This one thanks you and returns the Mistress’ property.”
