Akira Honda was sitting on a chair, in the Osaka harbor docks, fishing as he always did every day since his retirement. He found inner peace and simple pleasure from that activity, remembering fondly the fishing trips he had with his father a longtime ago. But it had become much harder recently.
"Yo, old man !" he sighed. Tsuburuya and Kubo, two yankee louts whose gang, the 'kaijus', pretended to own the docks, had returned to bother him... again. They never got violent, thank kami, but took delight in berating and insulting him while he was fishing "Catch anything ?"
Kubo looked in the box where Toshio put his catches "There's nothing in there ! You suck, gramps !" They laughed, thinking it was funny. He took their harassment like a proper japanese, with stoicism and patience. He had plenty of it, fishing helped develop that quality "How will you nourish your family if you don't do better than that ?" Besides, they lacked imagination and their insults were always the same.
"Why bother, honestly ? You can't catch anything worth eating in these parts !" Honestly, shouldn't these delinquents be in school ? "You never know, man... Perhaps it's his lucky day..."
Suddenly, his fishing pole vibrated and the float was dragged underwater. Toshio smiled "I got something !" The two youngsters looked at him in disbelief. The reel was turning like crazy and the line stiffened "I got something allright !"
They didn't see it since their attention was focused on Akira's fishing pole but a huge mass churning a vast quantity of water in its displacement appeared in the horizon.
The pull on Akira's fishing pole was enormous and reeling the line didn't help in the slightest "Watch out, old man ! This one's huge !" Tsuburuya nodded "Yeah !" then paled as he noticed the wave coming at them "Shit..."
Akira's strength wasn't enough and his fishing pole flew out of his hands, swallowed by the sea. The noise made him raise his head and he too saw the 'thing' approaching at great speeds.
"Let's get out of here, man !" Kubo was already running "Wait for me !" His friend joined him and Akira followed suit, the wooden pier exploding in flying splinters as the thing rammed it at full speed. The shockwave sent the three men flying into a dumpster.
Akira gathered what was left of his courage and took a look outside. His eyes boggled as he saw the creature rise from the depths and set foot on japanese soil. It was huge, as tall as the greatest buildings of the capital. The reptilian giant monster looked like a cross between an iguana, a dragon of komodo and... something else. Bony ridges who resembled blades ran along its spine. The monster stopped and seemed to look at him directly in the eyes. The huge slitted yellow unblinking iris made him wet his pants.
Then the creature roared, a scream that chilled him to the bone and recalled the terrors of his childhood. Akira Honda ceased to be a retired salaryman and changed back into the terrified little boy he was in 1954 when his parents had taken him to the movies.
His fear had a name and he screamed it "GODZILLA !!!"

"You've got to be kidding me..." Ranma sweatdropped. How could Misato think he could stop a monstruosity like that, even with her help ?
His genie was currently observing the Fallen. It was sniffing in the air, looking for something "He's after us, Ranma. Are you ready ?"
Ranma's three fiancees looked at Misato increduously "Are you insane !? Ranma can't beat a giant monster like that !" "Violent pervert girl right ! Airen great martial artist but not good enough for killing big lizard !" "You're still drunk, aren't you ? No way Ran-chan can do this !"
"Sure he can, with my help" Misato walked to Ranma and put her brow on his "Clear your thoughts and synchronize with me, it's our only chance..."
Ranma did as she told, having nothing to lose. And before any of the girls could pound him for being a pervert, Ranma and Misato were engulged in a column of white light. A brilliant flare shaped like a giant cross exploded into view. When the girls' vision cleared, the only thing they could do was stare.
A giant humanoid stood now where Ranma and his genie had been. It looked like an armored warrior from the arabian nights tales, its cape fluttering in the wind and his turban hiding its face.
Inside, Ranma regained his bearings, shook his head and put his hand on his head, unaware that the metal giant mimicked his actions exactly "What the hell !?" He was naked and floating in some kind of grey-black void.
A floating purple crystal floated to him and a chibi-Misato sprung out of it "Oooh, nice view..." Ranma crossed his arms over his crotch (outside, onlookers wondered why the giant robot was protecting its privates when the big bad monster had not attacked yet) "WHAT'S GOING ON !?"
Chibi-Misato posed in a triumphant stance "We've summoned the Eva sacred armor ! Now you can fight the Fallen in equal terms ! Observe !" She snapped her fingers and suddenly Ranma was seeing the docks as if he was over twenty meters tall "What ?"
"You have synchronized with the armor : you see what it sees, it moves like you move and... You hurt when it does. So be careful, okay ?" Misato frowned "Sachiel spotted us. He's coming ! Ranma, we must fight him or the world is toast !"
The pig-tailed boy gulped and took a fighting stance "Well, here goes nothing..." The godzilla-looking Fallen jumped and the battle was on !
