Ranma didn't get very far into the house before Nabiki grabbed her arm.
"I think you and I need to talk, Ranma," Nabiki said quietly.
"Huh?" Ranma blinked as Nabiki started to drag her upstairs. "What do you mean we have to talk."
"Nabiki?" Akane protested as her former fiance was dragged upstairs. There was a small spark of jealousy, SHE wanted to be the one to drag Ranma upstairs and she could freely admit it now. At least to herself.
"Don't worry Akane," Nabiki said. "I'll keep her all in one piece." There was a distinctive leer that accompanied Nabiki's comment that left Akane no doubt as to what the golden girl was talking about.
"What," Akane asked, sputtering and rather embarrassed. "That's not what I? I mean..." Akane's face flashed bright red as Ranma and Nabiki disappeared into the middle Tendo's room.

"You're not attracted to my sister any more, are you?" Nabiki said bluntly, floating back and landing hard on her bed. She frowned a moment as the (new and costly) bed creaked under the weight and reminded herself not to just drop on anything again like that.
A sudden horrific thought occured to her. What if she couldn't have children. Ranma and Akane were organic, but her? It wasn't like she had ever planned to have kids, but she'd much rather have the...wait...Ranma was trying to sneak out.
"Ranma," Nabiki said. "You didn't answer my question."
"I..." Ranma stopped and stuttered for a moment.
"Sit down," Nabiki commanded, pointing to her desk chair (which she feared was now unusable to her).
"I don't know," Ranma muttered weakly as she sat down.
"When she hugged you," Nabiki continued, leaning forward. "How did it feel?"
"Well," Ranma said quietly, looking down in defeat.
"And how did all those boys make you feel?" Nabiki added.
"Ummm," Ranma whispered softly, sitting down in the desk chair and feeling dejected as her face turned beat red to match her hair.
Nabiki sighed and sat back on her bed, shaking her head as she put together all the things Ranma didn't say.
"You two just never had a chance, did you?" Nabiki asked. "When you were a guy, you had no chance because Akane, as she's discovering, is a lesbian. Now that you're a girl, Akane has no chance because you're straight as a girl. Wonderful situation. At least before you were a girl half the time but liked girls all the time."
"Sorry," Ranma sighed. "I didn't mean to..."
"This isn't your fault Ranma," Nabiki sighed. "Now, how to break this to Akane though."
