The very agreement became his sole reason for existence, as it provided a means of becoming family with the one person whom he loved more than a brother, by letting the two cross their bloodlines through their children. Now that he was one step away from becoming a branch on the same tree that Genma would be part of, he felt the urgent need to share his excitement with his daughters. So he quickly laid down the postcard and decided to casually visit each of the girls in their respective rooms and tell them to come to a family meeting where all would be revealed.
He decided to start with Kasumi's room.
“Kasumi,” he yelled as he pushed the drapes aside and entered the kitchen.
“Yes? What is it father?” Kasumi asked, feeling somewhat annoyed, while hoping that she wouldn't burn anything because of this untimely distraction. She tried to keep an eye on her father while at the same time watching the various pots and pans in use on the stove. She contemplated that cooking for a martial arts family sure could be troublesome at times.
“Nabiki,” he called out next as he entered his second daughter's room, not at all concerned over her privacy. He was greeted with a questioning look from Nabiki as she lay there on her bed, interrupted from reading her favorite manga while not having the chance to remove the popsicle from her mouth that she was currently enjoying.
“Akane... Now where is that girl?”
