Luna turned her nose up at him. "Can't you keep your mind on the problem at hand for once?"
"What problem?"
"The one we're dealing with right now. Or did you conveniently forget that we're in the middle of a group of rather powerful beings?"
"Oh, that. Didn't think it was worth mentioning," Artemis replied.
"Excuse me?"
"Come on. Think about it. These are gods and goddesses. Not only are they have a lot of power, but they have all sorts of knowledge and stuff that is just waiting to be used."
"Exactly. That's what makes this situation dangerous."
"I'm sure that they won't use their powers on the girls... Okay, reasonably sure. But you have to admit that those two were pushing it."
"I'm not going to argue about that," the black mooncat allowed.
"Good. But what's more important is that they're making friends. We've had to deal with so many dangers, and had to let them risk their lives at times when there were worse things than death. I'd just like to have the option of at least evening the odds."
"Would you stop for a moment?"
"No, I won't. They need this, and I for one want to give it to them. If nothing else, we could find out who they might not want to get involved with. You weren't the one who had to try to console Minako after that 'Danburite' thing. I don't want to spend another night watching her cry into her pillow."
"I wouldn't either."
"Then why do you want me to stop?" he asked.
"Because I agree about the fact that we could use some help."
"Huh?"
"Close your mouth. You look like you're trying to imitate a mousehole. But what I was talking about is that the girls are, for the most part, still teenagers, and human ones at that. They might get into trouble and not even know it. We are dealing with things like magical foods and odd machines after all."
"Oh... Gotcha."
"Good. Now, help me make sure that the girls don't get into too much chaos."
"Sure thing."
The mooncats left quite calmly, with little trouble over their situation, never noticing the way that the formerly hidden Sailor Pluto had fallen on her side in complete and utter shock.
Even though she was aware that she likely should be doing her homework, and getting on with her life, Nabiki found herself unable to concentrate. Things had changed rather radically lately, and she was not exactly able to take them with her normal calm. That was understandable, given the fact that Kuno's stupidity had gotten her fried, her father's obliviousness had been showcased yet again, and her fiance was now off with Amaterasu!
Not that she was feeling any real drive to go after the jock. They'd gotten along reasonably well, but any possessiveness would have died quickly in the face of having to deal with someone who could turn a person to ash just by wanting to. That was a bit worse than having to deal with others who'd come after the boy, and thought that she might be a way to get after him. Sure, he was cute, well built, friendly, open, and rather trustworthy, but she knew when she was out of her league and this was it.
However, her father and Mister Saotome seemed to be oblivious to that fact. The gods themselves had blessed the union, and the two of them couldn't understand that. Instead, they seemed to think that Ranma was 'running away' or something, and that they had to drag him back to her. She was just happy that they hadn't decided to use her in one of their plans so far. Doing so would have put her in the center of the latest chaos, and she'd much rather stay out of it, thank you very much.
But, as she looked out her window, she wondered what that odd feeling she was having meant.
Happosai awoke to find that he was feeling better than he had been in a long time. At his age, he needed the comfort of a caring young woman, the support of an athletic girl, and the exchange he could have with a smart one. Yet, he knew that he felt like he'd been treated rather well, almost as if a bit of his normal burden had been lifted. He didn't know why that was though, since the last thing that he remembered was seeing a party with all sorts of lovely ladies, from pretty young girls with long legs shown from short skirts, to hot ladies wearing exotic outfits, and going in to greet them.
Yet, as he opened his eyes and looked up, he saw that he wasn't where he had been. That place had bright and clear skies over a lovely little temple. This... was not.
Instead, as he shifted so that he could look around to identify where he was, he saw:
