Three kinds of his "special" emergency Portkeys, one each, check.
Seven "power batteries"--Those things weren't all that big or noticeable when made properly, and really could make or break a situation sometimes---check.
Various and sundery other kinds of useful Magical tools and items, four kinds, check.
Tom Riddle sighed, streaching his limbs. Experience had taught him that making sure his Loyal Servants were actually properly outfitted in any situation was supremely important. And when it came to something like this...
Even though it did make some of said Loyal Servants mumble and grumble that they weren't idiot first graders any more.
Ahh. Wait a minute, he had forgotten something...
For non-Marked spouses, children and immediate family members, usage of special Portkeys type dorsal specially authorized. Carrying of back-up wands, focus's and ordinary power batteries reccomended.
And that means even if you don't attend the Ball, do you understand me, My Loyal Servants?
Not that most of his Loyal Servants wouldn't be devising various and sundery ways to protect their persons and their families anyway, of course, but this way nobody could say that he hadn't warned them, at the very least...
Now all he could do was hope that all the other things his Loyal Servants were no doubt setting up wouldn't clash to much with each other too much. They were so--innotative--sometimes...
All right, he'd done all he could. The people manning various "bases" for the duration of the Ball all had their orders, and he'd done his best to make sure they actually understood them, too, instead of sulking because they hadn't been invited to the Event of the Season...
Note to self : Throw them a party afterwards. Or make sure most of them get invited to the next great gala, anyhow...
The things he had to worry about. Gaah.
Tom quietly pulled himself away from the lightly viberating spiderweb network that connected all his Loyal Servants, and sighed.
Now to see how Rosemary was. And Alexius.
Once it had been decided, willy-nilly, that Tom Riddle the Apocarist would attend the Malfoy Ball--he hadn't needed all that much time that Rosemary was going to be his "companion", or at least one of them.
He knew she loved that kind of thing, or at least used to, and he wanted to give her a chance to enjoy those things while she still could, somehow. Enough time should have passed so she'd be--less notorious, too. He hoped so, anyhow.
Though it did make him ponder about which name she should use. They'd talked about it, and in the end had decided on a simple "Rosemary A. Smyth". Though he wasn't sure Rosemary had ever actually been married to a "Mr Smyth"...
He'd decided to bring Alex along partially for Rosemary, but also just for Alex himself. Not that he actually thought that Alex could go around socializing and making connections all by himself or anything like that, but he could enjoy the party, at the very least...
Alex blinked when he lent him his "extra" wand--nothing like a Olliander wand, but on the other hand, not at all picky, either--and one of his special portkeys, though he knew better then to make any comments by this time.
Rosemary had her own backups, of course, but dimpled happily when he lent her one of his focus-and-batteries, and 2 of his special portkeys. She'd known about them in a general way, he suspected, but hadn't had a chance to actually put her hands on any of them. Ahh, well. They looked pretty, at least, transfigured into a pendant and ring.
Tom Riddle escorts a radiant Rosemary A. Smyth...And smiles.
