Especially since Snape had all but promised to try to introduce him to the various people he obviously thought were important. Which were mostly people having something or other to do with Potion-making or Alchemy or various Magical Theories, this being Severus Snape one was talking about, but it would be quite interesting, he wagered,non-the-less.
In many ways.
"Alex... Stop gawping, either. You'll end up swallowing flies..."
Rosemary was busy scouting out their surroundings, cataloging and asseseing people. Well, it was one of her prime hobbies, be supposed... He looked were she was looking at for a unpredictably long time, about 5 seconds or so, and blinked. Just who was that near-lookalike of Hermann Fleminger as a young man, anyhow? Complete with a prematuarely balding plate and all...
The Hermann-lookalike was looking somewhat bothered, glancing right and left. Aaahhh?
"...Oh, Mr Riddle! Mr. Riddle, is that you?"
Oops. Now who was that oddly familiar voice...
"Mrs. Weasley! Fancy meeting you here!"
Molly Weasley looked radiant in pregnancy. Well, she often did. He suspected that was a major factor in why the Weasley's produced quite so much offspring, actuallly...
Now if only he could do more to convience his Loyal Servants to have a little more children. Well actually, he had, and he was planning to do so a little more--proactively--in the future, but still...
"Congratulations are in order, I see, Mrs. Weasley?"
"Why, thank you!"
Molly dimpled prettily, bouncing her less than a year old infant on her arm.
"Mr Riddle, meet Ron. Ron, meet Mr. Riddle."
Red-haired with freckles, again. It was a wonder that their parents could tell them apart, much less other people...But that was the Weasley's for you. Tom gravely held, patted and burped little Ronald, and handed him back to his mother with no little sense of relief. He didn't quite understand why some parents insisted on giving him their children to hold, frankly. He was used to it by now, he supposed, but--it wasn't that he looked like a child-person or something, was it?
"And how is young Percival doing, Mrs. Weasley?"
Though he did know the answer, he hoped...
"Oh! Percy is doing just fine, Mr Riddle...He works so hard, and studies, and... He wants to be Head Boy, fancy that. A Weasley as Head Boy...Can you imagine?"
"Well, why not, Mrs. Weasley! People should try to be what they want to be, after all..."
He wondered if he should tell her he'd been Head Boy, all those years ago... But probably not.
It wouldn't do to get her wondering which House he was in, or if he'd gone to Hogwarts at all for that matter....
Arthur and Molly Weasley weren't part of Dumbledore's little Order, at least not officially, as far as he knew, but they were hard-core Dumbledore supporters non the less, which was a pity, but it couldn't be helped, he supposed. Even though it would make Arthur's parents spinn around in their graves to see just what their flesh and blood were supporting, especially since Dumbledore was known as the Muggle-lover nowadays. It was funny how the Headmaster had managed to adjust and shift his stance around, little by little by little... Really. Didn't anybody notice?
The young are blind, and the old are ineffectual. Not that he was all that old yet by Wizarding standards, no indeedy...
"I'm glad I could meet you here today, Mr. Riddle...I shouldn't have just dropped out of sight, after all you did to help us."
"Many couples have trouble conceiving their first child, Mrs. Weasley, or even if it's not their first child. I am glad to have been of assistance... And you shouldn't worry about dropping out of sight. My Apocthary is in the same place it always was, so if you ever need me for anything..."
Alexius, Alexius, were was the boy when he needed him?
"Either myself or my assistant Mr Bannerly here would be able to help you. Or try to."
"...Thank you, Mr. Riddle."
Molly smiles again, and Tom Riddle decides that Arthur Weasley is lucky beyond anything he deserves.
Most people who elope with a "lower-class gold-digger" do not end up with 6--no, 7 now--loving children and a wife who loves you despite all your flakiness, after all...
