For years his Pop had dragged him from place to place, always telling him that he'd be training in this style, or at that place. That had been no problem, but the old man had continually done so with a constant show of really bad ideas. Sometimes they were in between training sessions, and some times they were what he was being trained in. Either way, he didn't really think that his father was the 'wise sensei' that he had when he was little. Sure, his Pop knew his stuff, but he tended to get too many 'good ideas' for the teen's liking.

And this had all the symptoms of being yet another silly act on his part. No real explanations had been given, and no clues as to the actual plans had been dropped. All he knew was that he was stuck in this stupid trip when he could actually be back at the dojo.

Of course, that was another of his father's bright ideas. Apparently after tracking down the local variant of his 'old training buddy' they'd agreed that their children would marry. Then they had dropped that little tidbit out when they had brought him to meet those girls... only recently. There was no 'getting to know you', no 'growing up knowing about the arrangement', nor even a 'take your time'. But even with all that, he'd prefer to be there rather than dealing with what was likely another of his father's inane schemes.

Not that he'd been really asked to go. It was, 'Boy, let's go', and that was it.

Entertaining visions of kicking his father into a canal, Ranma trudged after the elder Saotome, and tried to figure out what would be the best way out of this, while:
