She welcomed the short duration as she thought about that. She always seemed to have her mind drift back to the problem she had with Ranma. She thought that she could just let school help her get her mind off Ranma, but she kept thinking about her. She had hoped that Hikaru was at school today, but his seat had remained empty. After all he was the only person she knew that had any experiences with spirits. Maybe he could help her with what to do. If nothing else, he had to have experiences with angry spirits and would know what to do if that happened. Now what would she do?
"Ms. Tendo... Ms. Tendo... Miss TENDO! I know that I do tend to bore you, but you can at least attempt to pretend to be paying attention?!" Nabiki's teacher announced to the class, "Or you can spend the rest of class out in the hall with the buckets."
The rest of the class seemed to be snickering at her.
"Okay..." Nabiki seemed to meekly say. Then her grin returned. After all, she did have that picture of the teacher and the school secretary. "It is just that those problems are so boring. Don't you have anything more challenging?" she said with her classic smirk.
The teacher's face went to a scowl at that remark. "Then surely you can solve this problem on the board?" he said with a smirk all his own.
"Sure, 4X-2AB^2. Can't you come up with something harder than that simple equation?" Nabiki asked, with a false pout that was almost as discouraging as her smirk.
The teacher was stunned to be honest. He had watched Nabiki sitting there without writing anything down. How could she have solve the equation that quickly. "Fine, how about this one Ms. Tendo?" he asked with his renewed grin. She'd never get this one.
Nabiki simply put her hand to her forehead and ran it down her face. Her and the teacher were gonna be at this for a while. Smiling she said "The answer is..."
"Finally," she thought as school was over for the day. She had accomplished nothing at all today, but at least Ranma hadn't shown up. She hadn't decided what to do.
Nabiki picked up her "tips," that the other students seemed so willing to pay her and headed home. On the way, though, she started to feel like she was being watched. She continually looked around as if trying to find someone watching her, but every time she turned around there was no one there. "Am I being followed?" She wondered. It wouldn't have been the first time. Before she had summoned that demon, the boys that picked on would follow her home teasing her all the way home. This, however, felt different somehow. Almost creepy. "Hmm," she thought, "I think a spirit or demon is following me." With that she started to walk faster and then broke into a run. She had to get to her books and find out what was going on. Was this thing Ranma, who was already mad at her, Ranma's Father, or something much worse? Either way, she wanted some sort of protection before she found out.
