Lamp Of Mihoshi/Sleeping Ranma: Pain in the Astral [Episode 14047]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

Ranma Saotome, heir to the Saotome School of Anything Goes Martial Arts could only sit and sigh as he watched what was transpiring. Watching was the only thing he COULD do at the moment. His body was in suspended animation, and instead of just 'sleeping', hus soul was somehow ejected and made into an Astral Projection.

"I'm a frikin' ghost!" Ranma Saotome muttered to himself. He had tried to talk to Akane, and the other Tendo family members, but they could neither see, nor hear him. Since it basically was like he wasn't there at all, he left the castle to see how everyone was taking the news of his new situation.

And then Akane had shown her true colors once more. Though Ranma tried to deny it, after seeing how she treated the fiancee brigade, Ranma knew now that Akane was not a woman he could love. She had been callous with him before, (hell, that's what started this mess) but seeing how she treated everyone, he couldn't help but realize just what an evil person Akane was. "Akane no baka..."

Still, while he had to admit that what she did to Ryoga was poetic justice, he couldn't forgive her for what happened after. Now, Nerima was hell on earth. The whol landscape something taken from Akane's twisted mind, and ampliphied by the curse's influences.

Now, Ranma could only wait for one of the girls here to free him. And in truth the thought also scared him, even though he wanted the nightmare to end. The woman that would free him would become his wife. Their lives would be intertwinded, and then there was really no going back. As Ranma thought about the girls he realized that while they certainly had their faults, they were still good people.

Yohko Mano, a woman whom was now fighting to keep alive. She had only gotten away from the monster that Kuno had become because the Tuxedo-Guy interrupted the fight, and he was now a rose vase. Ranma felt sorry, because he could feel the girl was starving for love... And what scared Ranma a bit, she was very willing to give up her... 'Virtue'. Still, if she freed him, it wouldn't be so bad. She fought demons all the time, and that meant Ranma could get some decent martial arts practic in for once.

Ayeka Jurai. He did NOT want to get married to her. She was not here because she wanted to be with him, but because she wanted to prove Ryoko wrong. Well, at least as a bonsai plant, Ayeka wouldn't be able to save him.

Then there was Ayeka's sister, Sasami. Ranma didn't want to be married to someone so young. Yet, what surprised him was the amount of power and purity she held. As he looked into her, he could see she held so much power, her aura was something that made Saffron look like a candle in comparisson! She was a pure soul, one untouched by hate. Though she was really young, he wouldn't mind it if she kissed him.

Brianna Diggers. Ye GODS did she remind him of Shampoo! She was unhibited about how she acted plus she didn't mind destroying anything that got in her way. Both traits that reminded him of Shampoo. Yet unlike the Amazon Princess, he could also see that she had many aspects to her soul that made her a treasure. There was a fear she kept hidden deep within her, an almost child-like innocence. Something told Ranma if she woke him up, maybe he wouldn't mind so much being married to her. (Of course, he'd miss having feeling in his body from the waist down, but that would be another matter entirely).

Then there were what Ranma thought all this time to be an urban legend. The Sailor Senshi. Didn't they realize the seriousness of the situation!? The majority of them were complete ditzes! The ones for the inner planets onl saw this as something romantic, a chance to see true love. Didn't they realize what could happen to them here? He would feel so guilty if any of them got hurt. They were all innocents, and they barely knew what a relationship was! How could they just throw themselves into the position of being married without serious thought!?

Then there were the Sailro Senshi for the pouter-part of the solar system. Ranma lucked out slightly. They didn't want him. They did however, want SOMEONE to kiss him besides a Sailor Senshi... All except one that is...

Sailor Saturn. Damn, what was it with little girls and major power!? This Sailor Senshi had an aura that was as great as Sasami's! Her power could easilly be the opposite side to the same coin of Sasami's! Damn, why is it all these little girls that could make him feel insignificant want him!? Still, while she was powerful, he felt no form of malice coming from her. if anything, he felt the girl held a guilt and depression, far greater than the depths Ryoga held. An innocent soul lost in a sea of concepts she couldn't understand.

"Geeze... I am in serious touble..." Ranma muttered. He would have felt more sorry for himself, but then he heard it. Cologne was losing. Willing himself over to the Amazon Matriarch, he saw her body convulsing. She had willed the power away for awhile, and finally it dug itself into her being. As Cologne gave out and accepted the power.

Using Akane's idea on how Cologne knew of the Cat Fist, how she had the restaurant the 'Neko-hanten', and the fact that she was one of teh very few people Ranma slightly feared, the magic changed Cologne fully. She was now a Nekomatta. Ranma shuddered. WHY did she have to be a CAT!?

Cologne turned and looked in Ranma's direction. "Do not worry former son-in-law. I will make sure you will be with Akane-sama forever."

Ranma was shocked. But then he realized that a Nekomatta is a cat-spirit with a strong connection to the Spirit Realm. It was no wonder she could see the astral projection of him. He then watched in wonder as Cologne raised her hand. He then shivered as he heard a roar in the distance.

Turning his head, Ranma saw the sound was coming from the Nekohanten. The building's roof was shaped as the head of an evil-looking cat. It's jaw was open and the eyes glowing red. Spirits seemed to coming forht from the other side. Spirits which as soon came to deposit themselves around Cologne. They were cheetah-like creatures, and their presence was making Ranma TENSE! "What the hell are these things!?"

Cologne snickered. "Werecheetahs. And they are under my control. Do not worry former son-in-law they shall not hurt you. They shall be another defense for the lands here. I don't trust the Zombies, and I'm sure these spirits will be able to take care of any incoming threat quite easilly.

And it was then that the werecheetah spirits bounded all around the area. Ranma sighed. He better get out there and start keeping damage control down QUICKLY!
