"I accept."
Kasumi and Akane turned in shock to their sister. Soun blinked, then smiled.
"What a happy day this is!"
Nabiki backed away, but she wasn't fast enough. Crushed in a bearhug, she heard Daddy's muffled sobs.
"My little girl is getting married!"
"Daddy, please. It's going to be a while before any of us get married," Nabiki managed to wriggle out of Soun's death grip. "Besides, he's not even here yet."
"Little sister is right, father." Nabiki looked up as Kasumi caught her eye. She didn't like the look on her older sister's face. "We'll have a lot to do before your friend and his son get here."
"That's right!" Soun released Nabiki. "We've only a month to prepare!"
-----
Akane had been the first to leave the room after Nabiki had made her announcement. Nabiki wasn't really surprised. If something didn't concern her, Akane simply stopped caring about it.
Nabiki, sitting on the back porch, listening to the thug break bricks out in the dojo, looked at the picture of the boy. Not bad looking, she guessed. Sound asleep probably wasn't his best side. Still...
She wasn't sure what to make of it. Nabiki had the spark of an idea, but it was a bit more impulsive than her normal plans. She felt a cold lump forming in the pit of her stomach. She was engaged to be married. To a boy she didn't even know.
It all came back to Ranma. The nature spirit simply made Nabiki go crazy. And so far...so far the spirit had been nothing but a good friend. Nabiki had wracked her brain for days trying to come up with the best way to approach the redhead, to see if possibly, there was something more between them. Nothing sounded like a good idea. There was no one else to turn to. Nabiki wasn't even sure if Ranma was sexually attracted to girls.
So.
The boy she was engaged to was the key. He was cute and all, but not much more than a picture. Some guy's son...
"Nabiki?"
The middle Tendo looked up at the sound of her sister's voice. She waited as Kasumi swept up her dress and sat down.
"Why?"
"Why what, Kasumi?"
"Nabiki. Don't give me that. Why did you accept the engagement?"
Nabiki looked at the picture once again. Not bad. Just not Ranma.
"Can you honestly see Akane marrying anybody, let alone this guy? And you? You're already interested in somebody else." Nabiki smirked as she watched her older sister blush.
"What about your...friend?"
"This is for family honor, right? You're always going on about that stuff."
"Oh Nabiki." Kasumi pulled the younger girl close. "You're still not telling me everything."
"Please." Nabiki pulled away and brushed herself off. "Just for once think I'm telling the truth, Sis. You don't know me as well as you think you do. You've never even bother to try and find out."
Nabiki stood and tossed the picture into her sister's lap.
-----
Streetlamp came on, one by one, as the sky grew darker.
Nabiki ran as a good pace, jogging to keep her heart rate up. The hills in and around the neighborhood were good exercise. It helped her think.
So. She had the boy. She had Ranma. Ranma was a sex spirit. The boy?
Get the two together. How? Not sure yet.
Hmmm.
Nabiki stopped at a stoplight, still pumping her legs, keeping her heart rate up.
The simplest solution would be to arrange a...meeting of sorts. Get the guy raring to go. Get Ranma into the picture. Give Ranma a nice meal out of the boy...and maybe herself as desert? Nabiki cheeks flushed. She'd like that.
Of course, once she had Ranma, she wasn't sure what to do with the guy afterwards. Divorce was only an option if she had nothing to lose. She had her family.
So keep the thing going. A marriage of convenience. Make a deal with the boy. The only way he'd have Nabiki was if Ranma was involved. Make it an open relationship. Other than the bedroom, they'd stay out of each other's way.
Nabiki smirked, thinking of Ranma's firm grip and soft skin. Wondering what she'd be like. Wondering what it'd be like. Nabiki slowed. Would she get jealous? Watching Ranma with some guy? She honestly wasn't sure.
Still. They'd have a nice little threesome, make short work of the boy, and Nabiki would have the hot little redhead all to herself. That'd be a hell of a wedding night.
Shit. Why wait for the wedding?
"Whatcha thinking about?"
Nabiki missed a step, stumbling on the cracked sidewalk, but didn't quite reach the ground, she was pulled up, red faced, to meet Ranma's eyes.
The redhead beamed. Nabiki melted a little more.
"Ummm. I was just thinking about you?"
"Really? I was thinking about you, too, Nabiki."
