It wasn't that he didn't want to marry... eventually, but he wanted to do it when he chose, and with the girl he picked. Being dropped into an arranged marriage was contrary to his nature, and he wanted to be certain of what the two fathers would want now that there wasn't a single 'Tendo daughter' to marry.
So, he looked it up with a thoughtful frown as he read what was now the situation.
Identity: Tendo - Saotome Marriage Promise
Current Status: Unable To Be Completed As Was Planned.
Relation With Ranma: Soun Tendo and Genma Saotome had arranged the marriage where the daughter of one would marry the son of the other. However, due to the absence of a daughter on either side, the promise could not be followed through. As a result, the original promise is defunct.
Associated Problems: The fathers have not given up, and want a joining of the schools to continue, though plans have to be changed. This has caused them to alter their plans in order to try and gain some of what they originally hoped for.
Scratching his head, Ranma wondered just what that would mean. It didn't sound too good, but then he'd learned that it was never a really good idea to hope that the two fathers could be leaving things alone. Even when there was something as simple as a give away in the market, the two of them schemed on how to win. He just wasn't quite sure of what their plans were as of now.
