Soft warm cushions, good food that came in bowls...

The cat squirmed, feeling a stab of loss and hatred that made her feel burned to the very bone.
Even her sadly admittedly swiss-cheesed memories didn't protect her from the full bunt of her loss and pain...
They would pay. Those who had taken her happiness and very life from her, would pay.
If she didn't die from a cold, first, that is.
No, no, no, couldn't have that. There would be no way to find the Princess if she was dead, which meant that they would be no way to Make Them Pay, which meant that...
Totally unacceptable, whatever it was.
Besides, That Idiot wouldn't be able to tell his ass from his elbow without her, the damn fool.
And now came those...Damn brats. Again.
--Well, shit.
Damn the cold, can't move worth squat--
"Hey, stop that! Leave it alone, you meanies!"
--Huh.
Well, that was new. The cat looked up, and up, into the bluest eyes she had seen in a while.
"Smushcc"
"You're a weird one, you know?"
The girl who'd rescued the cat said philosophically, brushing out said cat's fur.
"We'd better get you to a vet tommorow. That cough sounds nasty."
*Eww. Noo. Just let me get at whatever's left of our supplies...*
"Just what is this bandage on your forehead, anyhow?"
"--Miow!"
"Oops, sorry. --Now that's a wierd mark...looks almost like--Oh, never mind. Here's your food, kitty-cat."
And she was such a pretty cat too, rusty-red and long-haired--and such the prettiest eyes...
"Miao. Miawww...Scssshh"
Well, alright. This was better then being out in the rain by far...
Beryl, former Adviser of the Earth court, sighed into the food-bowl.
Now if she could contact that good-for-nothing former fellow Adviser Jedite and manage to set something up...
And avoid the animal witch-docters they had here, yay.
"--Are you finished?"
And that night, feeling the small but heavy warmth of a cat sleeping on her futon---
Chiba Mamori felt warmer then ever since she could remember.
