Since he had been thrown out of his body, Ranma slowly realized he could think more clearly than he ever did while in astral form. He had come to the conclusion that in this state, his thought processes weren't impaired by hormones, neurochemical imbalances, silly subconscious misconceptions and previous brain damage.
Having nothing to do but watch Akane succomb to her darkest impulses, he had taken a good objective look at his life and where it was going before his former uncute fiancee wished him dead. He could now admit that he had been an idiot and a pushover all along. Too bad he couldn't do anything about it now.
Still, there was hope, if he remembered correctly what Mihoshi said about the wish, he would be cured of all curses and afflictions upon his awakening. Sure, he would fall in love with the girl who kissed him first but it was a small price to pay. The more unwanted candidates (i.e. his former fiancees) were out of the game already and with his savior, well they would live happily ever after, right ?
He was floating, deep in his thoughts when he spotted the youngest of the girls after him, Sasami and Hotaru/Sailor Saturn. They were heading straight for the tower where his body was resting but they didn't know of the booby-trapped hall of weapons behind that door.
"No, stop ! Don't go there ! It's a trap ! Oh, who am I kidding ? They can't hear or see me..." Ranma Saotome hated to be helpless in any kind of situation.
Amazingly, Sasami stopped and looked directly at him "Hey ! You're the prince we must save ! How do you do ? My name is Sasami and this is my friend Hotaru" Saturn was puzzled, why was Sasami talking to the wall ?
Ranma boggled and would have cried in joy if he had still a physical body "You... You can see me ? You can hear me too !?"
Sasami giggled. This Ranma prince was funny... and cute too "Why, yes... I can. Do you know another way to go to the tower ?"
Ranma thought about this. They weren't strong or quick enough to go through the traps of the hall, they would have to take a detour. Burt with his help, they had greater chances at succeeding. The biggest problem was : Did he want to be woken up and tied to girls younger than him ?
*Oh... and why not ?* They were among the sanest of the bunch here and it was in fairy tale genre. It's always the overlooked nice character like Cinderella or Snow White who gets the prince in the end. Since they were so young, they could be friends first and develop a true relationship at a reasonable pace later.
Sasami and hotaru were also pure-hearted and had had difficult lives, the future avatar of the goddess of Jurai and the messiah of Silence deserved a break for once in his opinion.
"Okay, I'll help you find my body, this way !" *Let's hope the others keep Akane and the others busy in the meantime*
Sasami smiled and explained the situation to Hotaru *He helps us and not the others. That means he must like me... us more !* Sailor Saturn experienced a WAFF moment. Sasami saw her new friend was happy and felt joy too as she came to the same conclusion. Ranma wondered why they were blushing and sighing like that.
The two princesses agreed to Ranma's suggestion and followed his astral form through the castle.
