Vader turned to the Trooper. "Did you find the droids?"
"No, Lord Vader. We ran into some problems."
Vader walked over to the Storm Trooper and looked down. "What sort of problems?"
"We tried breaking into a home that we thought the droids might be at, but we were repulsed by some sort of defense grid. I have never seen any sort of grid like that before."
"Explain" Vader commanded.
The Storm Trooper did so. "When we first tried to break in, bolts of lightning shot down and killed several of my squad. As we kept trying, fire hit us. The third attempt only left me alive. I saw the rest of my squad frozen solid by some sort of blue energy and as they dropped, they shattered into pieces. After that, I felt it was my duty to report this strange house on Tatoonine to you."
Vader remained silent for a little while. "I can sense you are telling the truth. Some sort of Force user was on the planet and had defenses in place."
Grand Moff Tarkin said, "I have never heard of a Jedi using that type of defense to guard their temples."
Vader ordered, "Go back to Tantooine and find out who lives in that home. As soon as you do, report back to me. I want to know who we're dealing with."
The Storm Trooper saluted and left quickly.
Tarkin said, "I'm surprised you didn't kill him for failure."
"His failure was due to something other than incompetence," Vader replied. "His report disturbs me on many levels. I have felt tremors in the Force, unlike any I have felt before."
Tarkin sighed. "The Jedi are extinct. You are all that's left of that religion."
"This is not a Jedi," Vader said, bluntly.
"Then what?"
"That is what I intend to find out," Vader said, as he left the office.
Vader headed to his private chambers, so he could contact Emperor Palpatine. He knelt as the holographic image of the emperor appeared.
"What is it Lord Vader? I sense you are deeply troubled."
"I am, my Master," Vader said.
He gave the report that he had received from the Storm Trooper and his orders to that Trooper. Palpatine remained silent for a long time afterwards.
"This person could be a strong ally to the Dark Side of the Force. We must turn him or her."
"I agree, my master. But, we need to know who it is first."
"True. Keep me appraised of the situation, Lord Vader."
The hologram of Palpatine winked out. Vader stood up and looked out towards the distance.
"Tarkin is going to try that useless tactic of blowing up Alderaan to get the princess to betray the Rebellion. What a fool."
Vader left his room and headed to where Princess Leia would soon be force to watch as her homeworld would be destroyed.

Inside the Falcon, Lina was watching Han in amusement.
Luke said, "You don't believe in magic or the Force do you?"
Han replied, "Kid, I have flown from one end of this galaxy to another and I have seen a lot of strange stuff. But magic? The Force?"
Lina gave wicked smile, as she clasped her hands together. "Lighting."
Han stared dumbfounded as a ball of light lifted from Lina's hands. "It's a trick. It has to be."
Lina pointed a finger at Han. "Oh, cool off. Aqua Create."
Chewbacca and Luke laughed at the suddenly drenched Han. Han wiped the water out of his eyes and glared at Lina.
"There was no way you could have done that!"
Lina replied, "Magic. Just because you haven't encountered it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist."
Han stood up. "If you'll excuse me, I have to change into some dry clothes."
Ben hid a smile and said, "Well that's one way to convince someone. Now Luke, are you ready to learn the ways of the Force?"
Luke looked at Lina who shrugged. "All knowledge is useful. It's what you do with knowledge that's important."
Ben had Luke practice deflecting bolts of energy fired from a sphere. Lina watched in interest, as Ben explained how to sense using his feelings. She smirked, as Ben put a helmet on him with the blast shield down. She nodded, as Luke was able to deflect the bolts of energy.
Ben asked, "So, Lina you want to give it a shot."
Lina said, "Why not, but I don't have a lightsaber."
Ben said, "Luke, do you mind?"
Luke silently handed the deactivated lightsaber to Lina. She ignited it and saluted the sphere. Unlike Luke, she was able to block each of the shots without having to put on a helmet with the blast shield down. Lina jumped back out of the way of the remote, when she saw Ben hold his head in sudden pain.
"Are you all right?" Lina asked.
"I'm fine. I just felt a great disturbance in the Force. You are quite good. I guess being a mage has helped you out in sensing."
Lina sighed. "Standard training for wizards."
Han stomped out of his cabin and headed for the cockpit. "We'll be arriving at Alderaan soon. Once there, I intend to leave and forget that I ever met you."
Chewbacca laughed some more.
"Laugh it up, furball," Han said.
He growled, as he continued walking. "Magic? Bah."
Lina just smiled.
