However, as the two students faced off, there was another reaction that was going on.
Students were acting as if this was a familiar sight. Almost as if they were merely passing, or watching a project being rolled by, or a classmate racing in to get to a seat as quickly as possible, they were not shocked by the sight of two pupils apparently ready to beat each other up. And in fact, when the fight started, it was clear that they were expecting some sort of fight to happen.
"Are you sure that you want to do this exchange program here?" Kei asked as she turned to the girl standing next to her.
Sakura Kasugano grinned mightily and seemed to be shaking in excitement. "I sure am! This is so GREAT!"
"It is?"
"Yeah! I mean, just think of it! There are supposed to be plenty of fights and strong opponents around here! Just the sort of place that I want to be at!"
"Ah..."
"This way, I get to go to class, and get stronger at the same time. And if the school lives up to its reputation, I can get strong enough to impress Ryu!" the street fighter declared. "But you can go back if you want. I wouldn't want you to get hurt or anything..."
"You're my friend, and I agreed to go."
"And I'm glad that I'll have you with me."
"Me too. Still, at least you don't always have to be here..."
"What? Go to this place as a regular student? Right. I have better places to attend high school."
The other girl smiled at her friends words, while she wondered how their time would be at:
