Slamming both hands on her desk, Asuna stood up in full rage mode. As this was an all too common sight from the ponytailed girl, the students barely gave her the attention she was demanding. "Why the hell is that boy in our class then? What kind of perverted thing is going on here?"
From his seat by the window, the aforementioned boy didn't seem the least bit perturbed by her outburst as he leaned back in his seat. "Yeah, why the hell am I here?"
Flipping through his class folder, Negi checked the four photos with names and data written on them. After finding one that matched the young man's appearance, he looked back at the young man in question. "Ah, Ranma Saotome, the boy from another world. Uhm, according to this, you and the three girls I see in different uniforms are new students to my class."
Rolling his eyes, Ranma was starting to feel sorry for the poor clueless kid. "Well, in case ya haven't noticed, not only is everyone else in this class a girl, but every other student I've seen in this building is a girl."
Despite the pleasant surprise of having one of the boys actually try and remove himself from the class, Asuna remained angry. She had failed her anger management course and all that jazz. "Glad someone noticed this is the all girl's part of campus! Now what the hell is he doing here."
As Negi was searching frantically for answers among his now scattered notes, Ranma decided to waste a bit more time by venting some more of his grievances. "...and besides that, this is class 2-A of junior high. I not only graduated junior high entirely three weeks ago, but I still got a frigging week left on my break."
Several students in class found that tidbit shocking, even Asuna, who took on a slightly more normal tone. "Then what the hell are you doing here then?"
Shrugging nonchalantly, Ranma was the fiery girl's total opposite, almost uncaring of the situation. "I figure Hikaru-chan picked me up in China for a reason, so I'm just waiting to see what's what. It'd better be good too because I'd just won a martial arts tournament by beating the village champion and was about to get a feast in my honor. Heck I even had to leave behind my travel pack."
A shy red-head muttered something distinctly heartfelt about that outcome. "I'm sowwy."
Ranma was still just as distinctly relaxed about things. "S'alright Hikaru-chan. I'm sure whoever it was had a good reasons to send ya all the way into China ta pick me up."
Sighing, Shizuna decided it was time to speak up, though she was happy to see that the young man was observant. "May I address this Negi-kun?"
Feeling totally out of his element, particularly after being thrown such a curveball so soon, the young boy mutely nodded.
Moving back towards the center of the class, the curvy woman took up the floor. "Quite astute Ranma-kun. It was somewhat distressing that you showed an interest in not attending high school to instead focus your efforts on becoming a recognized martial arts master by challenging various schools.
"To that end, as you are just as much of a prodigy in physical endeavors as Negi-kun is in languages, it has been decided that you would be the special Martial Arts Instructor to this class, along with being sponsor of the Martial Arts Club in Takahata-sensei's absence. You will have the girls and Negi during PE to teach them whatever you deem fitting to the particular student. As not all need to learn to defend their selves as some are going on to fairly mundane lives, there is no need to restrict yourself to teaching just straight martial arts.
"As you haven't had a normal school life, we would like for you to stay with this class all the way to graduation, and graduate with them. You can use the next four semesters to strengthen your hold on the material as you are already approved to enter high school. Otherwise just enjoy being able to go to a single school for the next several years. You'll also be able to spend a long time with choice students in the art to prove yourself, and it is hoped you can help Negi-kun manage all these girls as a fellow teacher."
Pausing for a moment, the mature female teacher was experienced enough to keep such a rambunctious class from interrupting her. Keeping her momentum though, she stepped aside and motioned towards the center position in the front of the room. "Ranma-kun, girls, if you would come up and introduce yourselves now?"
Shrugging, Ranma moved to stand, speaking his peace before moving to the front of the class. "Well I guess I can live with that."
Arriving at the front of the class from his position in the back by the window, Ranma idly motioned for the girls to go first.
Bouncing forward, the petite red-head introduced herself. "Hi! I'm Hikaru Shidou. I'm 14, study kendou at my family dojo and have an affinity for Fire. I also like dogs and cats and bunnies and Ranma!"
Suppressing the urge to roll her eyes at her friend's antics, the poised cerulean-haired girl stepped forward. "I am Umi Ryuuzaki. I am a nationally ranked European style fencer. Also age 14, I enjoy cooking and the refined arts. My affinity is for Water."
Taking her turn to step forward and introduce herself, the girl with the curly short blond hair bowed to the class. "Hello everyone. I am Fuu Houoji, age 14. I practice archery, enjoy reading books and have an affinity for Air."
Sighing, Ranma finally stepped forward, though he addressed the energetic red-head instead of the class. "Bunnies? Did ya have to put me in there with bunnies?"
As his comment didn't faze the innocent, happy young girl in the least, he visibly shrugged it off before casually turning to the class. Several of the more astute students noticed that he was catching the eyes of several girls as if they knew each other. "Uhm, right, for everyone I haven't met before, I'm Ranma Saotome."
Pausing, Ranma turned back to mature young woman wearing the glasses. "Alright, so you gonna fill me in on the rest?"
Smiling politely, Shizuna reacted as if nothing were wrong. "Why whatever do you mean Ranma-kun?"
Quirking his mouth up into an unamused smirk, Ranma turned his attention to the class. "Right. Would everyone that's engaged to me, please raise your hand?"
Seeing several girls, including a few he had yet to recognize raise their hands, along with the three standing around him, he confidently turned his smirk back to Shizuna. His grin requirked itself when he found the smiling female teacher to be holding a hand up as well. "Ya know, you just look guilty like that."
