Including rental bad guys.
A similar experience to the one Ranma had gone through had seen the installation of a sort of "placement service" for people who were not too bright, but good at violence. It had expanded and was now beginning to operate in Sharn.
It was called 'Thugs R Us' and it was a useful little thing if you needed 'dirty deeds done dirt cheap' at some point.
Big tough goblinoids were their specialty. They had been known to use street gangs. The Bloody Horns for example.
Grunthaar wasn't a member, but he thought it a useful thing to know about this group. Mister Corsone ran the group, as well as had a number of other profitable if illegal business ventures.
"Gentleman Jerry" Corsone was, like Ranma, from somewhere other than Eberron. He was not a martial artist at all. Nor was he freshly arrived. He had shown up on the very day that the country of Cyre had become the Mournland, and he suspected that something in the events of that day were responsible for his current whereabouts. He was very interested in continuing to work out the why and how of this connection.
"So these adventurers are capable enough?" asked Corsone.
"Yeah, weeze tested 'em allsready," agreed Grunthaar. "So about deese payment?"
"In time, they have to prove able to do the job," Corsone sat back and regarded the bugbear. Big and dumb as a goblin can come, you see he stood about nine foot four. In other words, just enough of a punk to rise to the level of head punk in a small group. Eventually his group would eliminate this group, but for now they might be useful. "I'll give you a small percentage now, the remainder should this group prove successful."
Even so, Grunthaar eyed the little stack of coins with undisguised greed.
Corsone nodded. He'd simply collect the remainder of the funds after he'd met with these adventurers and no longer had a use for this street trash. "Arrange a meeting, will you, Grunthaar?"
Ranma checked out the thugs following his little group. These guys might as well be wearing shirts stating they were up to no good.
It was kinda strange with these robot-guys. They didn't look that different, but they had personalities that were a bit different. Arrow, for example, was trying to climb up to his current position. "She" seemed more withdrawn and less forward than Karma who Ranma didn't think could've even tried to climb this high.
A shout indicated that his position had been made. The thugs were running now. Ah, well. Too bad.
