Lamp Of Mihoshi - Gonyoo:: Arrivals & Departures [Episode 141974]

by Kestral

There were several individuals on the seaplane.

Quistis, of course, was the one sent to see if the heir was willing to accept the burden that would be falling on his shoulders. Or if he'd just cut and run.

Genma Saotome and Soun Tendo were on board, specifically to see how much wealth Ranma was coming into that they could spend.

P-chan was on board, and alone of any of those present, was wishing he was NOT there. He had read the little notecard with the warning about the curse and was not happy at all with the idea that he was going to end up with yet another curse. He was thinking that with his luck he'd end up changing from a pig to a girl after this, and was debating potential ways off the plane and back to Nerima.

Mousse was on board, keeping an eye on Shampoo. Or at least he thought it was Shampoo. It was actually Soun he kept making eyes at, but nobody had bothered to point this out to him yet.

Shampoo was on board, keeping an eye on Ukyo.

Ukyo was on board, keeping an eye on Shampoo.

Ranma was on board, sleeping.

Tatewaki Kuno was on board, wanting to see the foul sorcerer move off to some island - leaving him to console Akane and the pigtailed girl over his absence. He was sleeping too, though this was mostly because of repeated punches and kicks and spatula slams - after an unfortunate incident in which he'd sat down on Mousse, leapt off and onto Ukyo, got knocked away to land on Genma, and managed to put his hand inside Shampoo's dress while getting up thereafter.

Yes, Tatewaki Kuno was fairly thoroughly unconscious at this point.

Cologne was here, apparently meditating. Or asleep. Nobody was really going to inquire either way.

Kasumi had been getting a little twitchy about constantly being in the house, so she was using the opportunity to get away. Nabiki wasn't about to miss a chance to partake in a royal lifestyle however brief it would likely turn out.

Kodachi was here, though nobody realized it at this point. She'd arrived late, had lassoed one of the landing struts with her ribbon, and had been only able to climb as far as the floatation device before the wind had whipped her ribbon away. She had wrapped herself around said device and been hanging on for dear life for several hours now and might well have developed a fear of flying and/or heights by this point.

"Approaching Gonyoo," said the pilot over the loudspeaker.

"Ah," said Ranma, waking up for this.

The approach was smooth and swift, making a half circle of the island so that the plane could approach from the ocean to a harbor near "the head of the turtle." Gonyoo had a large number of farms and two forests visible, plus one fairly large mountain that was just off-center.

"That looks bigger than just two hundred kilometers," said Nabiki as the approach began.

"It is Gonyoo," said Quistis as if that explained everything.

"Do you have any maps?" asked Nabiki, thinking to verify something.

"It is Gonyoo, there would be no point," said Quistis with a small shrug. "We're a small island."

"Uh huh," said Nabiki, looking down at the small fleet of fishing vessels.

"Over there is our Ministry Of Trade," said Quistis. "That's the tall building with the fish pennants flying from the roof."

"Ah, I see," said Genma, planning his raid already. That would be Ranma's treasure vault then. Once it was Ranma's, his beloved and wise father would have to take everything not nailed down assess the new family fortune.

"Over there is our museum, with the history of Gonyoo," said Quistis. "Over there is the palace where we'll be arriving shortly. Over there - that building is the New Women's Center for those who fall under the curse."

"Ah," said all and sundry that were awake, staring at the palace.

"I've seen that somewhere before," said Ranma.

"The New Women's Center?" asked Quistis.

"Nah, the palace," answered Ranma, a little preoccupied.

"It looks like the Taj Mahal," said Kasumi, also referring to the palace.

"I suppose," said Quistis, shrugging. It wasn't as if she hadn't tried to warn the males in the group. It was sort of late for them to do anything about it.

"What was that twist when we touched down?" asked Nabiki, referring to a sudden shift.

"We lost a passenger," muttered Cologne, one eye opening ever so slightly to focus on Nabiki before returning to her meditation.

The Mesmer Eyes were a pair of metal and glass orbs that were actually oil lamps that had been made centuries ago. When lit, one had a friendly and relaxing green glow while the other had a glow that shifted colors constantly. The one currently in front of a young naked girl's face was bathing that face in blue light then green then red and all the colors in between.

"Gonyoo must remain leaderless if my employers are to properly thrive," mused the man holding that lamp. "Fortunately, I have a way to use you to make sure that remains the case."

Akane continued to stare into the depths of the flickering light.
