Faking It: A complaint and a realization [Episode 14232]

by Thrythlind

Kodachi Kuno came to a stop in front of the Nekohanten, the look on her face spelling doom and wrath. She was not exactly in fighting trim. Actually, it appeared that she had just been through a fight, and hadn't exactly come off well.

Her school dress was torn and disheveled and one shoe was missing. She had a cut lip and a developing black eye and was holding her left arm against her body as she glared at the sign above the door and started to limp in.

In all honesty, she should have gone to the police, but then, they probably wouldn't have believed her. Her brother was insane and would likely have suggested that she was imagining things herself. There was Ranma and a few other people she could have turned to for support, but really, none of this even occured to her as she strode in to handle the situation on her own.

As she passed the shop curtain and came into the restaurant in the middle of closing procedures, she spotted the old woman and made her way towards Cologne.

"Is there something that I can help you with, Miss Kuno?" Cologne asked, arching an eyebrow.

"You might say that," Kodachi said bitterly as she slammed down a jar of honey on the counter between her and Cologne. "What is in this vile concoction?"

Cologne looked at the jar and her eyes widened in surprise.

"Where did you get a jar of Diana's Honey?" Cologne asked.

"I managed to wrest it from your granddaughter while she was trying to have her way with me," Kodachi snapped angrily.

"Shampoo had this?" Cologne repeated.

"That is what I said," Kodachi snapped back. "She had called me out on the pretense of a meeting for discussion over a meal. During which I assume she found some way to place whatever this is into my tea or something else. I had assumed we were there to find some common ground on the matter of Ranma, but as soon as we'd finished eating and it was polite to talk, she was trying to give me a backrub, and expecting me to just be all over her. And then, she had the audacity to accuse me of being...appreciative of the female form."

"So it did not work on you," Cologne said.

"Obviously," Kodachi growled. "I did not come to answer your questions. I came to have my questions answered and to arrange a meeting time to gain satisfaction from your granddaughter."

"Tell me, Miss Kuno," Cologne said. "How many blows did you land on my daughter?"

"I decided that it would be wiser to make this an official matter," Kodachi said. "And pulled away to seek an official meeting with her elder."

"You couldn't beat her, so you ran away," Cologne said. "And now you want to duel her again."

"I am certain next time will be different," Kodachi promised grimmly. "And you have still not said what that drug is meant to do."

"It creates slaves," Cologne explained. "A woman who partakes of this honey will lose all taste for men, and they will become irresistably attracted to the first woman they see, usually the person who provided them the honey. They will be interested in her, and anybody that woman allows them to be interested in, and they won't think anything strange about it. It would last for perhaps a week before needing to be applied again. Long standing victims have been known to prefer women even after the drug has been cleansed, but that is a rare circumstance."

"What a horrid concoction," Kodachi declared. "To what possible use could it be kept?"

"I think you can guess. It was used in the past to eliminate competition for a man. It has been outlawed for the past thousand years for a part in reducing the overall fertility of our tribe. A union between two women does not usually create offspring, after all."

"Your daughter was trying to turn me into a lesbian loveslave?" Kodachi said, wrath rising.

"A loveslave certainly," Cologne said. "As for lesbian. You'd have to be one to escape the effects."

Kodachi blinked as she took a moment to disgust that.

"That is completely without foundation," Kodachi insisted.

"Even a bisexual would have been affected at a reduced level," Cologne said. "But to escape effect at all, you'd have to be a true lesbian."

"Nonsense," Kodachi insisted.

"Regardless," Cologne said, ignoring her denial. "You need medical attention and we should, perhaps, speak to Ranma."
