So, while he could have stopped her, he hadn't wanted to. She was acting to give his father what was coming to him, and it amused him to see it. In fact, it was like she was trying to protect him at the same time, as she'd stepped into his argument to strike the guy opposing him. Of course, he'd have to make sure that she didn't always do that, as trying to defend him would only work so long as she did it with the people he wanted her to. It was one thing to knock his Pop's block off, but it would be quite another to let her get involved when he wanted to be the fighter, or was simply arguing with someone and nothing more.
Not that it would be a problem. He was pretty sure that he could do so with ease. Akane did have enough control for that, and even if whatever might now be ingrained in her was not going to be enough to change how she moved. All he'd have to do would be to recognize certain actions, and he'd be able to hopefully handle any sort of blow up before it happened...
And then he realized that he had already done so without even trying. When his father had attacked, he had merely reacted, but not in the familiar ways he'd usually had. By the time the old man would get over to him, he'd have to actually fight, punching and kicking until he won. However, he'd seen the muscles bunching, noticed the look in the eyes, and recognized the intent all within moments. That had allowed him plenty of time to act, and he'd done so with an ease that Tatewaki Kuno thought he already had. But this was real, and he'd managed to move with a grace that he didn't know he had.
Then there was that moment when he'd thought that Akane would be hitting him, though he quickly saw what she was really going to do. Even the reactions of Nabiki and Kasumi became clear almost as soon as they did them. It wasn't an immediate awareness, so much as a quickening of his ability to see these things. Whether it was something his new powers gave him, something that he had 'inherited' from his girls that had been enhanced by his skill in the Art, or some sort of combination of abilities that had be ground together in his mind once he absorbed them, he didn't know. What he was aware of was the fact that this, while being nothing fancy, or very visible, had the potential to be helpful to him.
Though, he did see that he had to do something at the moment, and that didn't include determining what other powers he might have.
"Someone's going to have to get him," Ranma sighed.
Soun blinked for a moment in surprise, slowly letting himself obviously agree. "Exactly. We can't leave him there."
"Much as I'd like to."
"Son..."
"He was being a jerk, and he deserved it."
"How can you say that?"
"Simple," the pigtailed boy replied, and gave the tall man a flat look. "He was telling me what she's going to do."
"But..."
"He didn't talk to her about it."
"We've expected..."
"I know what you two think. You don't hide it. But who's her father? Him?"
"Of course not!"
"Well then, who would have any real say in what your children do? You or my Pop?"
"Me..."
"Exactly."
"Uhh... Well then..." Soun began, and then turned to his eldest daughter. "We'll need to get Saotome settled..."
"So you go and get the first aid kit. I'll pick up my Pop," Ranma said, and got up to do just that.
"Certainly," Kasumi agreed, moving away with just a small smile for her Master.
"Good. Nabiki? Akane? Would one of you go get a pillow and blanket for Pop? I'd like to get him resting in a way that won't make it bad for Kasumi checking him out."
"I'll go," his fiancee answered.
"Uhh... that's good..." the Tendo Patriarch stammered, clearly out of his depth at the moment.
Nabiki just looked at her father and grinned at his confusion, while:
