Soun Tendo stepped outside and smiled at the familiar face as he took his mail. They shared a nod, but by the size of the man's bag, it was clear that he was going to have to hurry to handle all the deliveries that he had to make. So the mustached man decided not to keep the poor civil servant waiting, and let him go on with his route.
He did have his mail to check out after all, and hopefully that would be bearing something that he'd want to look at. The various things that came were not always good, and some he really didn't want to be seeing as soon as they came, but he thought that it would be better if he looked over it as soon as they arrived. That was foremost on his mind as he looked through the letters and came across a post card that had familiar, if really bad, handwriting on it.

With tears running down his face, Soun sobbed to himself. "Oh, how I've waited for this day!"
But he couldn't wait to tell everyone, and so he knew that he had to start immediately. The first place to go would have to be the kitchen, as that was a logical place to go. It wasn't that he thought that it was a woman's place, or that anyone had to be there, but knowing his household, that was the most likely place to find at least one person. Knowing this, he moved quickly and went to the kitchen door to lean in.
"Kasumi, dear," he said excitedly, "We need to have a family meeting."
"Why is that Father?" his eldest daughter asked, more in curiosity than anything else.
"I'll tell you all together, so that this is way I only have to say it once."
"That does sound like a good idea... Don't you think so Mother?"
"I did hear what he said," replied:
