Father Nightroad smiled at her. "Well, I'm sure that both our orders have brought a nice time out for us."
"I've got to travel a long distance, get lost, and stuck in a wasteland, and you call it a 'nice time'?"
"Sure. We get plenty of a chance to stretch our legs and walk."
"That's not fun! Why wouldn't they let me have a car this time?!"
The young man next to her shifted the big wooden backpack he had and tried to give her a chiding look. "It's because it's expensive to transport a car this far, and you keep on breaking them."
"Who asked you Chrno?!"
"I just thought that I'd remind you..."
"You don't have to do it for stuff like that!"
"It wasn't me who decided it, remember? I'd say that it'd make things easier."
"Then why didn't you argue my case for me?!"
"Because Sister Kate doesn't like me," Chrno replied.
"Oh. Yeah."
"You have a 'Sister Kate' in the Magdalene Order too?" Father Nightroad asked.
"She's my boss. Why do you ask?"
"I know a 'Sister Kate' too. But she's more of a colleague."
"Yeah, well. Ours is always yelling at me, and if she could, she'd be mad that I haven't gotten a move on."
"That would be bad, wouldn't it?"
"No worries. I'll just blame it on you."
