"Do you need anything else, Guile-san?" Kasumi asked brightly.
The American looked down at the table in front of him and wondered how in the hell the girl had managed it. She had taken regular room service and managed to set a table out of a movie. There wasn't a wasted motion as she set up everything, even spreading a napkin over his lap. "Uh... no. And just call me Guile, okay. After what's happened I don't think we should be so formal."
"Oh my. I hope I didn't offend you."
"You didn't, trust me."
"That's good," she said with a smile, "I do so want to be sure that we are able to keep things this nice."
"Me too."
"Tea?"
Looking at the pretty young woman sitting across from him, he could just hear the 'tea party' jokes start but didn't refuse her. "So, you said we were going to have something to discuss."
"Oh yes. You do see, we are simply going to have to figure out what to do."
"You got that in one try," Guile said with a snort.
"I did have a bit of time to think about it."
"And what'd you think about."
"This and that."
"Oh-kay... Are you okay with this?"
"It wasn't what I had planned, but I shall do what I have to. You?"
"Well... I am responsible for this too."
"I am a 'responsiblity'?"
"No! It's just that I have to face what's going to happen. You were never anything more than great." It took a few moments to register, but Guile thought about what he had said and then smacked himself in the face. "You know what I mean."
Blushing, Kasumi nodded. "Yes, I do."
"What about your family? They're going to have to be told."
"Certainly. It would only be proper."
"And how are they going to react?"
"I'm sure that father will be thrilled."
"He won't mind?"
"Oh no. He hasn't pulled out the family armor, bow and arrows in a while yet. The last time I can remember was when he was told that Ukyo-chan was Ranma's fiancee"
"And Ranma is?"
"My sister's fiance."
"Hold up a moment. I thought he was engaged to this Ukyo girl."
"Ranma's father engaged him several times that I know of. And then there's Shampoo-chan. She's the Chinese Amazon that Ranma-kun defeated and now her tribe's law says that they are married."
"And your sister has no problem with this?"
"No, she gets angry quite often. We always seem to have to get something fixed when she does..."
"Oh God, what am I in for?"
"Is there a problem?"
"Maybe. Your family might be a little angry at me."
"Of course not. As long as you do the right thing, I'm sure that they will accept you just as I have."
Even as he was half looking for a shotgun, Guile felt a bit of warmth at the statement. "Thanks."
