After all, this was the sort of story that, when future generations came about, they'd ask where their parents and grandparents were when they heard the news.
Not that the woman on the screen seemed anxious to be the one that people would remember revealed it to. "As many of our viewers are either aware, or are hearing rumors about, the government has made an announcement regarding recent events. Due to what has happened, and the resulting situation that we are now facing, drastic measures have been taken, as it is their conclusion that such is a necessity for the future of us all. Apparently, all other options have been discarded in favor of this certain plan."
There was a moment where it seemed that she was listening to someone else, and was not happy with what was being said.
"Well, it's the truth! And I for one am astonished by what's been chosen to happen. But they didn't act as if we have much choice in the matter!"
One could hear some sort of heavy paper being held up.
"I could save for an op-ed piece, sure."
A clearly heart felt groan was not hidden by anything.
"Well, you're a guy, so you wouldn't be having the same situation, right? Anyway, it is the decision of the Prime Minister's office, and the Diet, that men will now be allowed to marry more than one woman, and will be actually encouraged to do so. Because of the actions of that 'Ranma Saotome' character, guys will have this opportunity. And they shall have government support in all this, perhaps even to the point of helping them get together with girls. This marks a rather major change in things, and it seems that it will be the future of our nation."
The young man watching the news blinked for a moment, and frowned in thought before turning away from the television. Such an event was of major importance, and he couldn't help but concentrate on it. Of course, it wasn't like he'd actually engineered it himself, but now he was going to have to deal with results.
