So, he merely rolled over and flicked hamburger meat off of himself before groaning and trying to sit up.
Ema crouched down next to him and gave a sympathetic smile. "Are you going to be okay?"
"Yeah, fine. Things could be worse," he replied.
"It could?"
"Sure could. Though I did know that I'd probably get dirty because of this mess, I didn't think that it'd be this bad."
"I'm sorry!" Naru put in, her slumped shoulders evidence of how bad she felt about what she'd done.
"Don't worry about it," he told her, and tried to rub his head before pulling his hand away when he realized how gooey it was. "I understand."
"Aren't you going to get mad?"
"Nope. Why should I?"
"You should be carrying yourself with more confidence, you know."
"Yeah, I know...."
Mitsune smirked at the couple. "Catch these two. Only recently had their wedding, and they've already got marriage down pat."
"What do you mean?" Shinobu asked.
"Well, look at them. Naru's got the 'nagging wife' part down."
"Ha hah. Very funny," muttered the new Mrs. Urashima.
"I thought so."
"I didn't, Mitsune."
"Hey, just teasing. Got to figure that I have to get what I can in before lover boy here goes off on another dig."
"Oh, that won't be for a while now," Keitaro commented as he wiped off his arms.
"Why not? Don't you like going and making all those discoveries."
"Sure do. But I've been asked to do another job."
"What?" Motoko asked. "Are you helping in a museum?"
"That too. But I've been asked to be a teacher."
"WHAT?!" echoed from the tenants' mouths.
"What? I am an archeologist. They just want me to teach a set of beginners' courses in it. Nothing special."
"But you're the guy who had trouble getting into college in the first place, right?" Mitsune asked.
"I was trying to get into Tokyo University. Besides, I'm not doing high level stuff. It's just me teaching kids the basics of digging stuff up."
"It's true," his wife confirmed. "I saw the letter myself."
"It's kind of funny though. I'm only starting out, but when I decided that I wanted to stick around for a while, I got this chance. So, I'll won't have to go anywhere at least through the end of next semester."
Most of the girls had to work to take this in, save for Mutsumi, who smiled broadly and clapped her hands together in joy. "How nice for you!"
"Thanks. I thought so too."
Shinobu looked thoughtful. "But why did you think it was so important, senpai? Not that that we don't want you here, because we really do."
"Absolutely!" Su chirped.
"But you like going out on those digs."
"I just got married, and I don't want to be running out on Naru," he replied. "And you guys are here. I just figured that it'd be nice to stick around for a while."
His wife blushed as knowing smiles filtered onto several faces, while:
