"Saotome Hotaru," he murmured, reading the first.
"Huh?"
"Oh," he said, blinking. "Sorry. Thanks, Urd. That fixed it. Oh, um, what did you mean about my ... 'dossier'?"
"Your heroic dossier," Urd clarified. "The things as a hero that empower you. The virtues you cultivate and maintain. Or, sometimes, the flaws that marr you, and ... wait, didn't I already explain this to you?"
"Uh, no, you were kinda in a hurry to get somewhere," Ranma said, frowning.
"Umm. Well, I'll update your data-cube with all the relevant information. You want me to give you the short version while we're talking?"
"Please," Ranma said with relief, wincing as another forty or so headings appeared on the display. He wasn't sure what 'Heroic Comportment' was, but it sounded unnecessarily complex.
"Heh. Basically, you have certain virtues, things you represent in a very minor way that give you extra strength. Things you do that help other people, or show other people how they should behave. Like, always keeping your word. Never lying. Those are positive things, and if you do them, you make a better hero."
"Okay, I guess," Ranma said, nodding as he remembered his odd reluctance to directly lie at the table.
"That doesn't mean you can't be sneaky, just don't lie. Anyway, one of them is 'never swear'."
"Screw that," Ranma muttered, feeling a sudden wince of annoyance with himself for it. He couldn't talk like that; the last thing he wanted was for Hotaru to start picking up that language. "Er. Darn."
Urd snickered. "Any more questions, sweetie, or can I go back to my beauty sleep?"
