Chained World: Help Wanted [Episode 145200]

For a boy who'd grown up in this country, he was discovering that he was rather out of touch with a lot of things. His father had never taught him how to handle a lot of situations, from dealing with government officials, to handling the different little rules when handling people. Heck, he sucked in keeping an eye on his wallet, and wasn't sure why things had to be done certain ways.

Then there was all this new technology. So many 'advancements' were being created that the world was changing into a new one. Fantastic things were happening, much of which he didn't understand, but they were reaching into all areas of life, including slavery. What with the old system having times when people couldn't quite get the sort of slave that they wanted, perhaps skill wise, maybe physically, the science of genetic engineering was being brought into play. The slaves of old were now competing with the ones created from test tubes, and there were all sorts of new views from that, be the slaves mass produced, or not.

He just wanted to make his slave his. Well, it wasn't that he wanted to turn her into just another part of himself. But he did want to have someone around that he'd shaped, so that he could know her, and be able to have that connection he'd never been able to get with his father's constant need to keep moving. It'd never seemed to be fair to someone who'd had their own personality before he'd met them, but with this slave, he'd be able to teach her the Art, and hopefully see if he could help her to be something beyond just a 'product'.

Rei was going to be his, and he had spent a long time preparing to make certain that he was ready for the responsibility of owning her. Today was the day when he'd get her, and even though he was nervous, he didn't want to mess it up. He was going to succeed in this, and be the best Master that he could be.

So, he pulled himself into moving with confidence, while:

• he and his father walked to pick her up.
• he was in the office where he'd get his slave.
• Rei was waiting for her owner.
• someone at the office where Ranma was heading to was about to do something that would impact Ranma's situation.
• there was someone who wanted to try and put a slave who had been processed from a free person under the same owner as a mass produced slave.
• something else happened.
