"They don't have to be fancy candles or anything like that, any old candle would do, y'know. Come on now, just help me set them around."
Candles, candles, all around the room, white ones, red ones, green ones, blue...
"If there aren't enough, we could always cut the longer ones in two, too."
"--Oh, all right, all right, no need for that. We have a hundred, at least. --They're supposed to be exactly a hundred candles, right?"
"Yep, exactly a hundred. Mustn't confuse the--mustn't confuse people, after all."
Candles, candles, flickering and still...
"And so we wait to it's dark, get the eats and the drinks, call everybody together, turn off or cover all the bright lights away, light the candles, and tell ghost stories. That's it, right?"
"Well, sure. ...Though you forgot the "blow out one candle per one story" part."
"Well, duh, I did not."
There was silence, for a while.
"Do you think..."
"...Huh?"
"...Something's supposed to happen, right? If people manage to tell a hundred stories."
"Well, that's what they say. I wouldn't know, though."
"...Well..."
"Mmmmmmm?"
"Well.... Yeah."
