Crossed Over: Yet Another Beginning [Episode 146133]

by Proteus

“Why the heck do I have to help clean this up?” Brianna Diggers demanded as she swept the floor of her sister’s ruined lab.

“Because it was your bit bombs that caused this whole mess,” Gina told her sternly, which of course wilted Brianna’s defiance and got her back to sweeping.

Brianna just rolled her eyes in reply, behind her sister’s back of course, and continued working. Okay, so maybe she had built the intelligent bombs that had teleported a pair of billion year old robotic cyber dinosaurs from an alternate reality, and Gina’s robots had been destroyed in the ensuing fight, but it didn’t mean she had to be roped into doing the cleanup.

Where was that genie and his magic powers when you needed him?

Oh well, at least we don’t have to carry this stuff out in bags, Brianna told herself in a failed attempt at consolation. Not ten steps away the teleporter in the middle of the room was ready to automatically send any junk put on it to an alternate dimension. Picking up the full dustpan, she carefully walked over the puddle of soapy water and discarded cleaning implements that her sister’s mopping and scrubbing had left behind and dumped the pan full of small chunks of rubble and dust onto the pad before stepping back and watching it be sent into oblivion.

“Hey Brianna, could I get a little help over here,” Gina called out from across the room.

Brianna sighed and wished her other older sister was here. But Brittany was still recovering from the emotional strain of the whole lich kidnapping, and what had happened because of her disappearance. Plus she also had a baby to look after, and that was a full time cleanup job in itself. “Coming.”

Turning around, Brianna started to run towards her sister. She quickly found out that was a bad idea when her foot hit the wet sponge that was still on the floor and flew backwards. As soon as her butt hit the teleportation pad, Brianna swore if she lived through this, she was going to make sure Gina learned how to clean up after herself.

It was an interesting experience: being dematerialized and thrown through a dimensional barrier. At first, it hurts, it REALLY hurts, as it should considering the body is being torn apart molecule by molecule. But by the time that second second is over, all the nerves had been removed and there was no pain.

I swear I’m gonna haunt you for this sis Brianna thought when she gave up any hope of surviving. A second later, there was only darkness.

The next thing Brianna knew, there was a bright light shining in her eyes. Blinking, and slowly propping herself up with her hands, the youngest Diggers sister looked around after checking herself to find all her clothes and body parts were intact; dirty, but there.

She was in a forest, or at least a big park. The rest of the junk that they had moved out of the lab was also there, some of it stuck in the ground, suggesting that it fell from a good height. With all the rubble that was laying around her Brianna guessed she was lucky not to have a broken back, or a hole through her body if she landed on one of the more jagged pieces of metal.

“At least I didn’t end up in a black hole or something,” the girl mumbled to herself.

Now, all she had to do was figure out where she was… and how to get back home.

And find out just where she was of course.
