Bastet AKA Bast, Egyptian Goddess of Cats, Pleasure, Women, Children, probably Men too, and one or two other things people, even herself, had long forgotten about.
And lastly Urd, Norn Goddess of the Past.
Combined they had over eighty millennia of experience. Combined their powers could devastate continents and create new ones in place of the ruined ones.
They were... playing poker.
Urd looked across the table, peeking at her two cards, Queen♠ with an Ace♦ kicker (High Card), off suit. She tried to hide her glee as Amaretsu folded and Athena merely checked. She could have raised, but she wanted to see the flop first.
Kishijoten had long since been forbidden to play in these games, even without trying her own luck ensured she’d keep winning, and winning, and winning and...
She’s the Goddess of Luck, what do you expect? That explained her position as dealer. She dealt three cards to the centre of the table, a Queen♥, a Jack♥ and a Four♣. Betting continued around the table with Urd raising. Bastet saw and matched her raise and called. Athena thought for a moment before folding.
Game down to two players Kishijoten dealt the turn, an Ace♠. Now with a two pair Urd shoved all her chips into the centre, raising an eyebrow to ask if Bastet would match her.
Bastet matched her, chip for chip and both goddesses set there cards in the middle of the table, Urd’s off suit Ace♦ and Queen♠ verses Bastet’s off suit Nine♥ and King♠. Watching closely Kishijoten dealt the river...
Ten♣.
Urd: Two Pair, Aces and Queens.
Bastet: Straight, Ace High
“Gahhh!” Urd ‘gahhhed’ as Bastet gathered all the chips up.

The Norn Goddess of the Past pouted as she set the mail down on the table and sat down to cycle through it. She couldn’t believe she lost to those three AGAIN! How did they do it, she had been playing with them for five hundred years now, couldn’t she win at least ONCE!? Sighing she looked through the mail.

The Imperial’s Strip Poker Tournament. Bor-Wha?
Pausing at the flier she unfolded it and began to read. Standing up while placing a foot on the table she pointed a finger skywards. “That’s it!”
After all, the goddesses she played against had thousands of years of experience, these mortals had, at best, a decade. Her poker skills would finally shine!
**CRASH**
Since she was laughing so loudly she didn’t notice the sounds of Athena, Amaretsu, Kishijoten and Bastet laughing their divine asses off.
Everyone nearby wondered why there was thunder on a cloudless day.
