"Dagobah? Never heard of it?"
Leia heard Lina's muttering. "I'm not sure where it's at either. I've heard that a Dark Jedi made it as far as Dagobah before being stopped, but I've never heard the story on how he was stopped."
"We'll find out when we get there," Lina said, as she pulled the data-card out of the reader and replaced it with the blue data-card.
A holographic representation of Ben Kenobi appeared on the plate and started speaking.
"Lina. Leia. The two of you are heading to Dagobah to be trained by Jedi Master Yoda. He has been living and hiding there, since shortly after you and Luke were born Leia."
The face on the hologram of Ben looked worried and weary. "Exar Kun's waking up has sent all plans far out of alignment. Thus, I feel it is time to tell you the truth about who you are Leia."
Lina and Leia looked at each other and Leia got a very cold feeling in the pit of her stomach. The holographic Ben looked upwards and shook his head before continuing.
"Your mother was Princess Padme Amidala of Naboo. She died giving birth to you and your twin brother."
"I have a brother?" Leia whispered.
The holo-Ben continued, "Your father was a student of mine. He was called Anakin Skywalker and he was a Jedi Knight. Yes, Luke Skywalker is your brother."
Lina piped up, "The two of you do look somewhat alike and you do act the same."
"This makes no sense," Leia said. "Why would something lie this be hidden from me."
The hologram of Ben sat down on a holographic bench and tried getting words out several times before finally resuming the narrative.
"Palpatine knew of Anakin's strength in the Force and worked hard at corrupting him. He finally succeeded. The two of us fought on a volcanic planet. I severely injured him, but Palpatine's arrival forced me to flee before I could put your father out of his misery."
With a look of horror on her face, Leia whispered, "No. It can't be."
"After the operation that saved his life confined him in that black suit, nothing was left of Anakin Skywalker. Only Darth Vader remains."
"No! No! NO!" Leia screamed, as she backed away from the hologram in fear and denial.
Leia dashed out of the room and headed for the room she was staying in on Lina's ship.
Lina shook her head in sadness. "Poor girl. Her family is just as messed up as Amelia's family or Zel's family or mine."
"Lina, I have no doubt that Leia has fled from this recording by now. The reason Luke and Leia were split up was to protect them from Palpatine and prevent them from falling into his clutches. At any rate, there are a couple favors I want to ask you. I want you to train Leia in your style of magic and the two of you learn the ways of the Jedi from Master Yoda. Luke and myself will be heading for Chewbacca's home planet after we retrieve the holocrons from your home. I offered to teach Han once. I hope he accepts the offer when I make it again. Chewbacca's son is also strong in the Force. I also hope to teach him."
Lina clicked off the hologram and sighed. She headed towards Leia's room and put her back against the door.
"Leia, you can't choose your family," Lina said.
"Go away! You don't know what this is like," Leia's sobbing voice said.
"Don't I?" Lina shot back. "When I was about ten or eleven, I made my sister mad at me and she punished me. To this day, I am terrified of slugs and I'll go into a panic attack if I even see my sister's writing. There is my friend Amelia's family. She is the princess of a country. Wen I first mer her, her Uncle Randy was trying to kill her father and then her as well. Later, her Cousin Alfred tried killing her father and her to take the throne. Of course there is Zelgadis. Rezo, his grandfather or great-grandfather or maybe both, did an experiment on him that changed what he looked like. Zel now looks like he's made of animate stone."
"How can someone be both grandfather and great-grandfather?" Leia asked, still sobbing
"My best guess is that Rezo's son married Rezo's grand-daughter without either knowing of their relationship to each other," Lina replied with a shrug. "The only people who know for certain are dead. Zel once mentioned that he believed that Rezo killed his parents. As to Rezo, well... he's dead also."
"Vader tortured me," Lina hissed, as her sobbing subsided.
"Does Vader know that you are his daughter? You didn't know until now," Lina replied, as she sat down on the floor of the ship with her back sliding down the door.
Lina pulled out one of her data-pads and started tapping away at the keys. She stared at a scene that was recorded by the Death Star cameras.
"Well, what do you know? Vader isn't responsible for Alderaan. It was that Tarkin jerk and the zombie face."
The door slid open and Lina caught herself before she fell back into the room. Leia looked down at her with tear stained eyes.
"What? You weren't there?"
Lina held up the data-pad and replayed the scenes she just viewed.
"When I was aboard the Death Star, I downloaded all the information that was inside that piece of junk. I guess I also got the recordings of meetings that took place in that junkpile."
Lina stood up and headed for the cockpit of her ship. "Golden Dream"
"What?"
"The name of my ship is Golden Dream."
"All right," Leia said, slowly getting her composure back together. "What do I do now?"
"You listen to the rest of that message and then I can try teaching you magic."
The two girls made their way back to the front of the ship and Lina replayed the message in its entirety. It took another hour before Leia was able to put the horror of her past revealed to her and began her first lesson in magic.
