As these were all fairly civilized deities, they quickly reached a compromise. Ranma would not be a Chosen in the typical manner of Mystra's, but as the prince of a magical kingdom they all approved of and had a vested interest in, he could benefit from more than one.
Io, god of dragons, was first. Ranma would gain the friendship of dragons and be able to speak their tongue.
Mystra, goddess of magic, granted Ranma the gift of powerful magic.
Bast decided her gift would only become known later - after puberty. He would have the grace of a cat for now, but that was only a precursor of the talents he would have when old enough.
Lathander gave the boy a gift of the Art. He would become a great mage, but his original skills would not be forgotten, and he would incorporate the ways of the Monk and the Mage.
From Eilistraee came exceptional skill with sword and bow, and the ability to use either as well as his fists and feet despite becoming a wizard.
The remaining gods observed these gifts and pride had them not want to give anything less than the others. And so Moradin's gift to the boy was:
