"NO!" yelled the strange pokegirl, flinching and bringing her hands up to protect her head.
"Misty - Stop!"
She slowly lowered her arms from protecting her head, to see where the boy and his pokegirl were now staring at her.
"You're not wild?" asked the boy, frowning at his pokedex.
"No!" answered the stranger. "My trainer in woods, got lost."
"Huh," said Ash. "Your trainer ought to have gotten an ident chip implanted, I'm getting Misty one when we get to Viridian."
"Gah?" asked Misty, hoping it wouldn't hurt.
"Is your trainer hurt?" asked Ash, thinking that one of the first duties of trainers - assist other trainers.
"Not know. Was charge of herd of cowgirls, saw Master go down before got swept away," said the strange pokegirl.
"You're an Earth type," said Ash. "Oriad. Can't you use your Armor ability and defend?"
"Master Brock no teach me that manuever yet," said Oriad. "Say level not high enough."
Ash nodded. "Well, we'll have to make a side-trip. Where was 'Brock' based out of? That way we can return you to his home for when he checks in."
"Boulder City, is near dam in mountains," said Oriad, grateful that there wasn't going to be a battle.
"Then let's get going, I need to get to Viridian as soon as I can," said Ash. Besides, the Ranma part of his mind pointed out, it might be handy to have another trainer owing him one.
