The woman looked at the Frozen globe before her, and wept.
They had won.
They had won...
...They...had...
The stars twinkled.
What did they care, about such puny things as the fate of Earth?
"Both the Silver Crystal and the Golden Crystal have been drained to the dregs. I didn't think it was possible, honestly."
Pluto wanted very much to take a break. About 200 years or so would do nicely.
--As if that was possible. Gaah.
"Hey. Heiya there! Pluutoo, Endyyymion..."
"Yes, Uranus?"
"Neptune says the barrier that was englobing the Solar System seems to be down all the way now, and both Galaxia and the Princess Kakkyuu are hailing us! What to do?"
"What to..."
Pluto rubbed her eyes. Damn. Damn.
Why had she ever left the Time Gate, again?
"...Uh...Ask them how they'd been doing against the Enemy, and tell them we'll call Sailor Moon right now, then."
Assuming the woman she'd last seen in the observatory was still Sailor Moon, that is.
Or even Tsukino Usagi.
Really. Truly.
"Can do. You OK?"
"--Not very. ...Tell me why, again?"
"Why we fight? --Because we hafta, silly Pluto love. Uranus out."
Pluto heard the crackle of static and almost whined. She was so tired she was beginning to hear things, damnit. She could have sworn that Uranus had just called her "love"...
"--I'll go get Usagi."
"Please, Mamoru-san. --And ... Saturn?"
"I--can't tell. Perhaps Usagi would be able to."
"--All right. Sorry, Mamoru-san. I'm beat."
"...Everybody is, Setsuna. Everybody is."
One Frozen and contaminated Earth, check.
About half the human race not to mention countless other beings and living things dead and gone, check. There was no way to revive them even if they had have the power to spare, not when what was left of the Enemy had melted down their Essences, Starseeds and all, right down to the kernels, and thrown those kernels to scatter all over the Otherside...
Oh, said kernels would manage to find their way back to the Circle of Life, sooner or later, it's not that she doubted that, but...
Pluto sighed. It had been a long, long, day.
And that, was the beginning.
