In a school dorm, a magi named Negi was almost ready to collapse and he was getting a chill every time the radio mentioned this odd development of transformees fixating on a guy as their "special one."
In a shrine elsewhere, a girl named Kagome Higurashi had become a gynoid. Her friend and comrade-in-demon-slaying Sango was now an elf.
In no case was the 'someone special' going to cause the transformee to look and find some evil stranger. Even if that was normally what they were attracted to, 'dangerous' didn't quite seem to fit the need now burning within them.
In each case, the 'someone special' was someone they trusted prior to the transformation. Someone they'd looked up to and found attractive in some manner. The need for an emotional bond beat within them, and whether it was a bunnygirl or succubus or pixie or catgirl or angel or gynoid or elf or whatever - they all felt that need. Some ignored it and put as many mental walls as they could up. Others accepted it.
Akane trusted him. Had trusted him for quite some time. That some of that trust was misplaced was beside the point.
Which was why she was approaching Ryoga.
Trust had never been part of her relationship with Ranma. She could remember some attraction (not that she'd admit it normally) to the transgendering martial artist, but that had faded with her transformation. Now she was intrigued by Ryoga instead.
