Dumbledore's Gambit: One Night in the Summer Late [Episode 148472]

by Linnara

The witch wearing the yukata sat on the floating tatami, feet dangling over the edge, See-Me-Not spells humming. Ahh, the breeze was so nice this time of the year...

She'd made the flying tatami as a lark to begin with--well alright, she'd seen other people with things like that and she'd wanted to see if she could make one using the broom-spells she'd learnt in school--but it had turned out to be soo useful.

One could sleep on it, for instance.

...Or more then one person could, actually...

Ahh, and their was her dear husband, hurrying up the road with his sake, beer, yakitori, and various groceries. Though she had to admit that marrying a muggle, and a not at all rich or connected muggle at that, had not been in her original plans for How To Live A Happy And Furfulled Life...Things had turned out pretty damn well, after all.

It was nice to have a husband that was so after her own heart, supposed muggle or not.

And he could be creative too, oddly enough. Why, some of the little "twists" he had added to her ideas about their only child's--up to this point, that is, though she was sort of feeling that maybe having another child wouldn't be a bad idea at all, lately--training regime made even her eyes go round, sometimes.

And he was a good father, too. He hardly ever even hit his child except in the sparring sessions--ahh, those were fun to watch!-- and always made sure he got a proper diet, even if he had to go--um, "borrow" or "beg"--it himself.

Ahh, but she'd missed her husband and child while they'd been gone, even though she'd known it was necessary that they live apart for a while. Just scanning them throw the mirrors and such or dreams just did not cut it, sometimes...

But that was over, and now they were together again. A proper family.

She glanced at her child running about with friends again, and smiled. Oh, children were so dear.

...She probably couldn't laugh at that idiotic half-brother any more, she supposed. She was as fully melty-minded as he was, when her own offspring was concerned. Meeh.

...Not that she'd ever let him know that, of course.

--Heh, heh, heh.

And in another place, were there were much greenery and softly bubbling pools of various temputures---

A witch in a full multicolored kimono, featuring, oddly enough, banboo, rabbits and the moon, was sitting in the middle of what appeared to be a miniture war zone.

"--Mum. ...Mum, what happened?"

"...Emma-san had another--flashback, I think. It's all right, dear."

Though how anything could be all right when they'd just had to use what was perilously close to a team Imperio--

"Oh. ...Is she all right?"

"I think so. Be a dear and just help with the clean-up, all right?"

She had to look at the bright side. At least this time's "explosion" had come at a place far from the paying customers...

She thought of a certain Castle, and the people she had known there.

And sat, among the wreckage.

And cried.
