Setsuna Meiou chewed on her lip. How so very--inconvenient.
Damn that bloody Unseelie Warlord and his bloody endless machinations, anyway! Setuna groaned, and sighed, watching the woman and two small children cry on her water bowl.
It was one of those days.
"--Hunh? Setusna, what's wrong? You looked like you bit into a nashi and ended up with half a worm, or something..."
And here came Haruka. Oh well, at least the rest of the gang weren't here... For the moment, anyway.
"You could say that. --Have you ever heard of somebody who calls himself "Albus Dumbledore"?"
"...Oh, him? Sure."
Haruka blinked, marshaling her memory.
"One of the most powerful warlords of the English part of the Unseelie Courts, I thought? Famous for dealing with that Grindelwald fiasco?"
...Well, if even Haruka knew about him...
"Yes, well, he is famous for that, well enough. It's the things he's not all that famous for that's the problem at this moment, though..."
"...Hmmm. Why don't you tell me about it?"
30 minutes later, it was Haruka who was looking like she bit into a Japanese pear and found half a worm.
"--The real problem isn't that Dumbldore plots, you see--I mean, it'll be pretty stupid to complain about that, the Unseelie Courts have always practically run on plotting and scheming from times unknown, even if they've gotten sort of "civilized" in parts these days, with all the interfertilization--cultural and otherwise--going on and all. No, the real problem is..."
"He's not all that good at it, is he."
Haruka sighed.
"...Not really, no. Though he does try. He usually manages to barrel forth on sheer forward motion, you see."
Like several other people she knew, actually...
"...Like me, you mean?"
Setsuna groaned.
"...Do you really want me to answer that?"
"...Never mind."
"Actually, it's part of his strength in some ways, I suppose. He isn't all that good at plotting, so he usually doesn't end up wasting time and energy with controvolted plots and scheming that go nowhere. In cases like this, though..."
They both sighed together, then.
"...He's getting old, isn't he?"
"...Yes. Though he's far from a doddering senile end yet, I assure you."
Haruka looked up and around, then, at the ceiling studding with twinkling lights...
"--So what do we do now?"
Hmmm.
Options, options...
