Kodachi took the sheaf, and read through them slowly. "Is... is this... " She couldn't even say the word. Always pale, her skin was edging onto grey.
Kuno tightened his lips, and nodded slowly, "True. Much as I might desire it otherwise, Ranma is our... I cannot say it." The thought alone made his nauseous; to actually speak it was more than he could bear. Neither was he alone in this; his sister was barely standing. A woman less fit and healthy would have surely passed out, she felt.
She sat slowly upon a nearby cushion. "I... I... then my pursuit... " Her eyes gleamed now with tears for a shattered dream, and a sick feeling of shame spread through her. For all that they defined it in unique manners, the siblings did value honour. The silence grew long.
