"Whats the matter, oyaji? Panda got your tongue?" asked Ranma, smirking.
"You are diluting the style with your reliance on these tools," tried Genma.
Ranma snorted. "Anything Goes means just that. Anything necessary to win. I'm just taking it to another level."
"Be that as it may, we need to go to Tokyo and visit an old friend of mine," said Genma, planning on getting Ranma to Soun. He could sell off all this surplus equipment when they were settled in.
"Oh, well go right ahead," said Ranma.
"That's right, where are you going?" asked Genma as Ranma started walking off.
"I'm gonna practice around here for awhile. See if I can't find some minions or something. There's some experiments to do, special techniques to learn. That sort of thing," said Ranma, shifting a carrisack to his shoulder. "I'll meet up with you later."
Genma grabbed his pack and hastened along. "Now now. How are you going to find the right house? How are you going to get along without the wisdom of your father?"
"Pretty darn well, I'd suppose," replied Ranma. "I gotta train up some. There's some nasty opponents I'll be fighting in the next few years, and I gotta be ready for them. You'll just be in the way, old man."
"I don't think," began Genma.

Ranma holstered his wand again before addressing the ice-encased Genma. "That's the problem, old man. Now don't go looking for me. I'll find you when the time's right."
Genma blinked wildly inside the ice cube, wondering if he could learn that.
Ranma trudged along briefly, then activated one of his magics and began leaping like a grasshopper. Each bound took him nearly a mile along the road, and soon his father was left far behind him. When he came to a stop at last, he looked down at an obvious dwelling-place for more than one individual.
Eventually he'd be fighting monsters, not to mention those who would occasionally be his allies and sometimes his opponents. He lacked a few details but he knew that to bring back the magical races and prevent the Great Freeze, he'd be facing all sorts of opponents. He had to get stronger to do this.
